The rules are simple: whatever the prior poster wishes, twist the honoring of it into something unwanted and make a wish of your own.

I wish IPs were always kept by the creators rather than sold to soulless corporations.

Granted: The IP register is now kept by the calling function rather than being given to the called function.

Unfortunately, this means that procedure calls can't execute, and therefore nearly all x86 software stops working. (This includes the bootloader, so any software that needs to be loaded by one (including basically all x86 operating systesm) will fail to work.)
