I'm going to point out: If the game did not require a keyboard or mouse, how the hell would a PC gamer play the game on a website selling largely to people with PC's? For that matter, activate/run/install/ect. I would find a given that everything requires a mouse minimum to run and most items a keyboard optional.

I'm not making light of the OP, but still, assuming otherwise is a little strange that a game would literally only be tablet supported on this site.

Shuangli: Thank You very much for your reply. And my apology <snip> Now I do feel ashamed for letting my anger out..
Well remember, Valve/Steam wouldn't have refunded you... Not if you'd already gotten a refund from them...

Still i'm glad to see this get resolved.

Firek: So, yeah - it's quite a predicament, so for now using the requirements as a warning is a reasonable solution, but hopefully not the final one.
Well for the longest time it's a given you'll have a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. It's sorta the staple of the PC. Sorta like you would assume every computer had a floppy drive back in the 80's and 90's.

I don't see a huge drive for adding keyboard/mouse requirements to everything as appropriate, almost seems more work than it's worth except for those few cases where like this when it comes up...

Firek: despite Microsoft's best efforts they haven't gained much popularity
More likely due to Win8 than anything else. Don't get me wrong, tablets have their place, but M$ trying to force it down everyone's throat and changing everything so drastically probably caused major whiplash... As such i cringe any time i find out someone wants tech support and they have Win8...

Cavenagh: Did the GOG team try to get the game to run on your system?

when I get my unemployment cheque, I'll buy you a game for $4 [that's about 50p in old money!]

Shuangli: It is about the principle, it is about the treatment, it is about the support, it is about the philosophy of a "friendly" company - it is not about 4 usd.
Glad it's resolved, but I still think this needs to be said.

This is good support. You sent in a problem. Support is trying to isolate the issue so they can fix it. Removing variables like old drivers, etc, is the first step in any halfway decent support process. Support that doesn't attempt to solve the problem is bad support.

Yes, it's frustrating that things don't work automagically all the time. Everyone understands that. Including the support people who tried to work with you and got ignored instead.

The next time you send in a ticket for support anywhere, expect to work with them to isolate the issue. That's how problems get solved.

blabla, I did not reply to the last email because it ignored my problem again and brought me to no point.

The blue did state that the team member did not get my problem right, that they changed the game-requirements now, and that I got my refund. -> That means I am right.
You should try to get a refund for the Thinkpad 2 Tablet instead of the game...

Just to clear up mistakes:

there are games that need only a mouse to be played. The digitizer-Pen of my Tablet-PC works as mouse. so I look out for games that only need a mouse and not also a keyboard. There are such games, I have and play them on my Tablet-PC.

The Problem is finding games that work well, so I looked here, and not for the first time. I tried out "Book of unwr. Tales" where a Keyboard was not listed in the requirements and I though: looks good, I will try it - and if it does not work I will get a refund without problems.

That´s all and that is legitimate.

Then there was a missunderstaning with the support which is now solved.

The Thinkpad 2 is such a great device, I love it. I can make notes per hand, use 3D Software with button overlay and make animations and I can play games like HoMM5 and Still Life with a pen, directly clicking on the units - and this is a fantastic play-feeling, especially for turn based games ; )

I need to add another thing:

I brought up an interesting problem - shame on me..

The new Asus X205 Netbook works with tablet-pc technology as well, and it sells like hot bread. At Amazon Germany you need luck to get one, atm they are only offered from alternative shops who ask more then the listing price. It is a success. In future there will be probably more ultra mobile notebooks with tablet technology. - Of course in a shell then, with a keyboard.

The Asus x205 will not remain the only ultra slim and mobile pc that will use tablet technology. They are the new low-spec ultrabooks.

But will the games work with tablet technology inside, as people here told me "how could I, nut that I am, expect computer games would work on a tablet-pc with windows (and that this is not even a real windows). Well, Tablets are Computers as well. The technology is compatible. Programms are compatible. We will hope the best. If not Gog will get a lot of refund questions from the future netbook users who buy older games here ; )

p.s.: before a missunderstanding comes up, we are talking about tablet-pc technology, not android tablets, and a full windows 8.1, not rt.

how very mature
in other words all you care about is that you were "right"
damn everything else you were "right"

as I got it rubbed into my face several times, after "the blue", that I was so "wrong": YES! I want to clearify that I was right "because" of the blue.

Over and Out now.

Firek: <snip>
On an unrelated note, when I was writing my reply to this earlier, I wanted to copy-paste-save my text, just in case, and instead of Cmd+A (yes, I use a Mac at work, deal with it!:D) I accidentally hit Cmd+Q and closed Firefox, with no way of restoring the edit box... :| Always a shame to lose the wall of text you just wrote...
I apologize to everyone for necroing this thread but someone just refered to this post from another thread and when I read your message I had to abandon "the unwritten rule" and throw all caution to the wind. :) This happens to me more often than I'm happy about but not at my own fault by accidentally closing my browser, but rather due to glitches that randomly happen on the GOG website to pretty much everyone. It can be painful as you mentioned if you just wrote a wall of text, and everyone knows I'm the 6th degree grandmaster of doing that. :)

I just had to necro this to say that it does give me some degree of bittersweet relief to see that a GOG blue has this happen sometimes too even though it may not be the fault of the forum code per se. :oP Nonetheless I feel your pain as well and sympathize. Now hopefully I don't get murdered for the necro. :oP

(I should note that if nobody else says anything the thread will simply vanish in 12 hours and only by murdering me here for it will it continue to necrostasticize and I can only take the blame for what I've done! Anyone to follow after me is responsible for any new life this takes on after I hit enter, don't blame it on me!) :oP
