The simplest solution is often the best one. :-)
No need, glad to be of service.
I've also blocked those social buttons from the game pages this way.
You could try the other solution provided by Tinycloud by adding the code to your userChrome.css file.

Did people react this badly to the GoG downloader link on every game page in the library..? Why all the hate for Galaxy?

I skip ads on youtube, I use ad blockers in my browser, I mute my TV when ads come on, I take off my earphones when pandora runs ads, why should I treat GOG's advertisement any differently, especially when it's in a region that is supposed to be "mine"?

Hopefully GOG stops with that nonsense when Galaxy is released.
It's even more ridiculous on Linux. Although there's no Linux version of Galaxy available yet every game page bothers me with the "TRY GOG GALAXY" button. But when I click on the button and switch to http://www.gog.com/galaxy then the server detects that I'm on Linux and removes the download button for Galaxy before I even can click on it. ;)

Nice. :/
Interesting UI "design" to prominently place a separate button for a completely optional feature, even breaking the all over grey style, when you hide any other option behind a "MORE" button.
No wonder they don't generate much love for Galaxy ...

The discrepancy between the again and again repeated PR claims about Galaxy and the real implementation could not be any bigger. Despite all the opposite claims Galaxy seems to dictate all and everything when it comes to the actual implementation.

The switch from alpha to pseudo-not-so-quite-beta-and-release has IMHO one reason, and that is the impending release of Witchter 3. This game needs badly some better sort of the crummy long unmaintained GOGDownloader, namely incremential updates. There is a patch planned for release day because all already sold copies of Witcher 3 are incomplete.
In the alpha thread, I suggested to ditch the the Client completely and make a new one based on Desurium (Desuras public version on github), which has all the functionality GOG wants, is already stable and is well developed. They just would have to put their GOG branding onto it, connect it to their API and bingo... a way better, friendly client.. The reaction was very very very frosty..., but I still think this would have been the better choice than the job they did with Galaxy.
This is already visible and I think in one or two years time they'll drop the installers completely with some reason that they are too much work, too costly to maintain and/or cannot afford to upgrade the available hard drive space in ther content delivery system.

1) We requested it
2) It will bring more AAA titles
3) It was beyond their reach to deliver the quality they wanted to
I especially like the last one for it implies that for some new features (e.g. the new high-quality GOG downloader links) they were able to deliver the quality they wanted to.
