amok: I prefer he uses these threads, instead of making a new one each time. You could also ask why GOG does not care enough about the games they are releasing to do it themsleves.

Breja: I just think maybe a single thread of his own for such updates would be better. Would probably be easier too for people who follow such things to follow one thread instead of whatever might or might not get necroed years later.

Or the forum could display thread's creation date in addition to when it was last bumped, so there'd be no confusion. But changes like that are probably far beyond what's possible for this forum.
I would have no problem with a thread creation date, but...you know... this is GOG's forum....

i also think that having a thread by himself would have no meaning and just be an utter mess. There are people who do follow some of these games, and it makes sense to have news about them in the news threads for the games.

Indeed. It's a great job Swedrami's doing, and I actually keep being amazed of how he keeps track of so many games to post the developments as they appear. And putting them in the announcement threads just keeps everything tidy and relevant.

Indeed, kudos to Swedrami!
I honestly nowadays think: "If this thread got revived, it probably is Swedrami with some good news!", instead of the classic "Oh, a 20 year thread necro for nothing."

So yes, thanks Swedrami, we're thankful.
Soon-O-Matic: Three freakin' years. Too early.

Thank you very much for the updates and tidbits that you post everywhere -- trailers, developer interviews, and whatnot. I don't know how you keep track and find them all. I appreciate it, and the fact that they're posted where they belong. For instance, I wouldn't have seen this trailer if it was part of a grab bag thread of a bazillion releases all cobbled together.

As for the game itself, it's a relief to see the GOG logo in the trailer. Nice that it's making its way over for real. In contrast, Gestalt: Steam and Cinder was "coming soon" for nearly 4 years, then simply vanished after its Steam release.

Breja: Oh for goodness' sake, you know what I mean. I'm not talking about the release date of the game. I'm talking about Swedrami necroing coming soon/in dev/release threads left and right all the time, and there's no way to tell without opening them if it's a new thread, a game I haven't seen yet or something from 2022.

I know the intention is good, but it gets a bit annoying to open these again and again only to realise "oh right, it's the game I wasn't interested in [insert year] and I'm still not ineterested in now".
That's 100% a "you" problem. My advice is to get over it. (Anyway you don't seem to be interested in any games, so maybe find another hobby.)

So it is, apparently. >shrug< I guess others just have way better memory and can just keep track of whether this is something they've already seen and whether they liked it.

Yes, yes, I hate everything, I didn't buy Doom 2016, I wasn't one of the few people who liked the look of Illusion Island, I didn't wishlist World of Goo 2 because I loved the first one and so on, and so on blah BLAH bLaH

OK, almost everything.
