A new, remade version of the classic console game with improved graphics and controls is arriving soon on GOG.COM. During this winter we will have a chance to ride the ferocious flying beast in Panzer Dragoon: Remake from Forever Entertainment.

Cavalary: Just noticed a "little" detail, another case of Win 10 only... :/

Swedrami: Which in 99,9 out of 100 times turns out to be just a placeholder and the game in question will run just fine on Win7.
I can almost guarantee it'll be the same for Cyberpunk 2077, which currently and officially only supports Win10 for now as well.
Not just a placeholder, It is more of a support thing for both the dev and GOG. As in they cannot guarantee it will work well outside W10 and will not help with any issue on any other Windows OS version. And that if you buy it to run it on W7. You are on your own and there will not be a refund.

MischiefMaker: Well geez, I'm excited.

Hey GOG people! If Panzer Dragoon is no longer too niche, call up Degica Games and start putting some Cave shooters on the site!
This. Seriously.
HOLY CRAP! Totally wasn't expecting this! Gonna be a day one purchase!

Hey GOG,

as others in this thread already shouted out, NOW PLEASE go back to CRAVE/DEGICA and bring those formerly rejected shooters here, too.

Now there is no more argument not to bring them to GOG anymore . If THIS japanese shooter can come here day 1, THOSE 3 (!!!) old and completely functioning japanese shooters MUST be here, also.

And remember, those are only 3 games, not 30, so go back to CRAVE/DEGICA and start a new conversation with the developers. Thanks in the name of all fans here.

Cavalary: It's not the case for Six Ages though...
But then you also have alleged Win10-only titles like Iron Harvest, which unofficially has been confirmed to run on Win7 as well.

I know that's just them protecting themselves from being held accountable should issues with an older, officially unsupported OS arise.

Doesn't change the fact that it's not been confirmed to only run on Win10 yet and that Win7-compatibility is still on the cards. Just because it currently only lists one supported OS doesn't mean that it won't run on others come release.
I hope it ends up being just as enjoyable as the original.

timppu: Sega Saturn being a console I've never played (Dreamcast being another), this game has always intrigued me.
This might be the saddest thing I've ever read. Never having played on a Saturn is one thing, but to deny yourself the joy of the Dreamcast? I feel like the only excuses for that should be along the lines of "I was a prisoner of war when it was a thing".
This is a very peasant surprise! Will definitely pick his one up on day one.

So... should this kindle hope we'll get a Panzer Dragoon Saga remake? (<= loved that game, though I may be remembering it through nostalgia-colored glasses...)

NOT happening as the code has been lost.

I was a pure PC gamer back when Dreamcast was a thing.

I am sure there were lots of interesting exclusives on all Sega, Nintendo etc. consoles, but I just didn't feel like buying dozen different gaming platforms to my home.

And I admit that most consoles I've "played" are really familiar to me only through emulators... The only gaming consoles I've owned were PSX and PS2, and even those I'd rather emulate on PC nowadays. I haven't played with any Dreamcast emulator ever, but then I haven't really looked for one either (nor the games).

On a serious note, I can relate. At a certain point, it became less realistic of me to constantly buy each new iteration of console. It meant that I missed out on quite a few games that simply never came to PC but at least I didn't end up in the gutter holding up a sign that read "Will work for an outlet and TV to hook up my consoles to".

With the Dreamcast - the exclusives didn't matter (well, I should say to myself and I have to assume others they didn't) but I had more fun with that console than I had with my first girlfriend (though they both broke my heart in different ways).

If the news were to break that a second Dreamcast was to ever be a thing that was brought into existence, I'd sell a family member to make sure I'd be able to get one of the first ones.

The idea of a next-gen Dreamcast is 99.9999% dead forever.

Just buy an Amiga500/1200 since it has more indie/innovative games than any of these platforms and can even run Doom. Not to mention the number of games it has (or if you buy the Kickstarter license you just go ahead and emulate them lol).

YES YES YES! I didn't think think this day would happen.
Almost makes up for the lack of an Afterburner port to the PC.
Wait... it's coming here?!
Hoping this keeps the weirdness of the original game. Never quite finished it on the Xbox.
