Moon Mystery: Why is there a boomstick in space? Can guns even fire in low/no atmosphere conditions?

Vertical Kingdom: Neat, a deckbuilder. I wish I could explore the cities than battle in them, but whatever!

Mariachi Legends: This game really saved on the color budget for one of the most colorful (and loud) styles of music I know.

Good Heavens!: Good Heavens, another 2D top down crafting survival game! (And in all the screenshots the character's inventory is conspicuously empty.)

Subterrain: Mines of Titan: Survival Kids meets Fallout Tactics!

Shrine's Legacy: This is entirely the wrong resolution for a SNES game, but hey of all the games to rip mechanics from, Terranigma isn't a bad choice.

Dwarf Delve: I played a Feed the Beast Medieval Modpack and all I got was this lousy first person Minecraft Clone.

Everholm: "focusing less on punching your way through the island's wildlife, and more on interpersonal relationships." And it's only the 5th screenshot down the game card that shows combat. Also, how am I to care about the people when they've got no personal flair due to the eternally zoomed out camera?

Coreupt: This UI are sick. I couldn't figure out what game it was for a few screenshots because the interface was completely bloomed out of shot.
As a single-player FPS nut going back to 1993 and my first PC, I'll probably be there on day one for Moon Mystery. Some of my favorite shooters have been goofy as hell ("HellForces" comes to mind). As long as it's fun to play, I'm not going to be too fussed about moon physics.

Now if I ever actually do go to the moon, very likely they won't allow me to even take a gun with, so I'm thankful to have one in my fantasy shooter. :-)
I'm just wondering, if Coreupt has such a diverse roster ("over 12 wildly diverse fighters to try out") why does all the marketing focus on only 2 of them and even the trailer barely shows other 2?

As for the rest, I think Everholm and Shrine's Legacy look interesting enough to look at them again upon release and future sales.

Breja: I can't help but wonder if dumping 8 diverse games together like that on release is really the best for their visibility.
Technically they weren't released, just announced as coming soon. They will probably get an individual release thread each and it'll be a bit more exposure than most small games get with their standalone releases.

firstpastthepost: I assume they would work actually. Most firearms require no external oxygen source to function. Lack of gravity and friction from atmosphere would presumably make them function better than they would in a more traditional setting. Those are just assumptions on my part though, I've never fired a gun on the moon.
Yes, guns will work in the vacuum of space. Gunpowder has its own oxidizer and doesn't need atmospheric oxygen to work. Heat, however, will be a problem. Without an atmosphere to dissipate the heat generated by the gun, it will take longer for heat to dissipate, and the gun would overheat without some sort of extra cooling.

Gravity has no effect on recoil. It would be the same on the moon or floating in space as it is here on earth. The lack of gravity would effect how you react to the recoil though. The moon has gravity, so as long as your feet are on the ground, it probably wouldn't be enough to matter. I'd imagine with the extra mass of a space suit on, it probably wouldn't be any different than on earth.

Free floating in space would be a different story. The recoil would cause you to tumble about your center of mass if you shoulder fired it. But if your floating in space, you probably have some sort of jet pack on that should have some kind of built in stabilization to compensate for recoil.

Some of them don't want much attention yet judging by the few screenshots and lack of a trailer. It might be more of a "if you have heard of these elsewhere and are interested please add them to your wishlist now so we can see how well our marketing is working" kind of thing. Most of them look like fairly low effort games too IMO.

Would be really great if publishers had a "super demo" where you could try out a bunch of the games they publish all at once.

Better too zoomed out than too zoomed in! Too many games these days are super zoomed in and restricted, often a tiny island or tiny area floating in space (although Vertical Kingdom seems to combine zoomed out with very restricted). For me, Ys SEVEN is a good example of too zoomed in vs Memories of Celceta which is good. But of course Falcom is great with the visual novel style close ups during dialog (with character expressions that are great if not overdone like CrossCode, which has super extreme expressions all the time). Although I admit that the nicely rendered faces of the guys in Yakuza 0 is one of my favotite parts of the game so far. I didn't find that one too zoomed in but the free camera at least makes it possible to look around more. With restricted views I think it is better to not be too close in.

Thanks for your observations. Everholm is the one that looks interesting to me out of all of these and I hadn't noticed that it doesn't have the visual novel style dialog. The trailer seems more zoomed in than the screenshots for some reason (and still look like a good distance to me).
I can't fault Freedom Games for not having a line up. That's A LOT of games coming out in 2024.
I think i need to buy a bigger TV... my old 50 inch Plasma simply is not big enough anymore reading all those very small things. Guess because 65 inch is the "new standard" nowadays and many stuff being optimized for it. I guess my next TV... i may buy it in January or even sooner... will be 77 inch... although it barely fits my door.

It would make my decision way more confident if my old TV is dying... however, those old Panasonic Plasmas are the most sturdy sfuff i ever experienced in electronics. Nearly 11 years of "abusive use" and still going strong... hard to believe. The vendor of this TV even was offering me a "warranty extension"... i had a huge laugh and he even was upset a little... guess he had in mind, same as the majority... that the other TVs may outlast it but the opposite is true.

Of course there is another issue adding up: Many devs are using a (compared to the viewing distance) pretty huge PC monitor nowadays which can be up to 40 inch i assume, and way below 2 m viewing distance. So, if you are sitting above 2 m, up to 3 m or even more... the TV need to be nearly twice this size in order for a comparable viewing experience. I mean, they are really sitting very close to it, maybe 1.5 foots or 50 cm... not even a 1 m, and the monitor is truly around 40 inch (!!!)... this is a completely new environment impossible 15 years ago (it was simply to pricy). So, indeed... if you still are using your couch as your "gaming place".... around 80 inch is kinda the new size, genitals does matter.

Just where are you playing from, and have you considered what resolution your TV is displaying at? Myself, I'm using a G2524H monitor for my PC, and my parents have a Roku branded TV downstairs that more specifically is a "InFocus Classic Series 45-Inch Roku Smart LED 1080p Full HD TV (IN-45FA40PR)".

Even if your plasma display was still performing at it's maximum capacity, I doubt it's done favors for your power bill or heat exchange in the summer. But hey, there's the third factor: How do you plan to move that thing?
If i want to save up on power i would probably use another GPU (this one can leech above 450 W under extreme circumstances, but usually it is around 300 W) and not a 5,1-Marantz Hifi-Receiver with Klipsch/Kef equipment, which is not gentle on the power.

I only live so and so many years... i got no time to waste for enjoying anything lesser than the life got to offer.

The TV is 1080P and "the best" and last Plasma ever made.

However, a huge 77 inch OLED is not on a power-diet... it will leech not much lesser power, yet... a even better picture if i finally got one.

The entire setup... i was never measuring it but it is probably around 800-1000 W, under 3D load (PC: 400-600 W, Hifi 200-300 W, TV 200-300 W ). There is even a 500 W symmetric KEF reference-subwoofer (force-canceling-effect) attached... so you really can feel the bullets.. if i want it). Of course usually it acts very gente at 50 DbA, no worries... but if some child would push the button to the max (which is locked at 80 dbA for safety purpose) in theory it could blast you out of the window. Just to get it right what "type" i am... i have no interest into something "lesser".

If i worry the power bill a lot, guess i would now be playing on a Nintendo Switch and still become a bit worried for every hour i may play "to much". No, i really do not enjoy stingy people... i want to live and experience life.

Sure, dont get "fooled" by "tough" humans... in my experience humans are full of paradoxial behaviour and the ones apparently acting very "sensitive" may act the opposite when the situation gets crazy... while the ones very rough may become gentle and sensitive all of a sudden.

My brother was lifting this TV ALLONE...
The 77 inch OLED is about same weight, although way bigger...i do not recommend moving it allone but probably still possible. Best to use 2 people at every side... the same way you handle every bigger thing.

You will always find someone doing the lifting... no worries. The hardest stuff is finding something "romantic"... this seems to be a challenge.
