Crimson rivers.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, an atmospheric action/RPG waring its anime sensibilities on its frilly sleeve, is coming soon DRM-free to GOG.com.
Despite being slowly consumed by a curse that will crystallize her entire body, Miriam still has a lot of fight left in her. Hacking, slashing, and dodging the feisty demon hordes now under the command of a corrupted old friend, she carves a path through this castle of gothic horrors with overwhelming gusto.

Beta access keys will be distributed to the Kickstarter backers in the upcoming days.
aaaaaah its finnaly coming <3

tremere110: I still have my Pentium 586 somewhere if you want to talk potatoes ;)
If you don't use it, it doesn't count ;)
Wow, the art style looks really interesting!

RyaReisender: I looks pretty ugly and made by the team that made Mighty No.9, so I'm not really all that interested.

That 8-bit prequel, however, I would buy if it came to GoG.
Actually Mighty No.9 was made by Comcept (the studio of Keiji Inafune) and Inti Creates. Inti Creates should have developed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night but less then a year after the end of the crowdfunding campaign they left the main game to Dico while the went developing Curse of the Moon (they are specialized in pixel art retro 2d games).
What everyone involved was mentioning that Inti Creates doesn't release games without drm to protect their property. That's why I highly suggest to not support them anymore.
The main crowdfunding campaign for Ritual of the Night is actually a mess. The crowdfunding has five companies involved: Dico, ArtPlay (which is developing the game with Koji Igarashi), Inti Creates, Fangamers (delivering rewards), and the publisher 505 Games.
Nos, Fangamers deliver rewards and take money from backers (for addon) but the money goes to ArtPlay so refund are being a mess. Decisions are taken in conjunction by ArtPlay and 505 Games. Communication has been shifted to 505 Games controlled platform (forums, Discord), while the kickstarter pages and comments are left without a proper communication.
WiiU and now PS Vita has been cancelled. PS Vita could have still being developed, it's not like the ps store won't sell ps vita games anymore. I actually got a refund recently which was initially going to be a partial refund but due to community uproar they changed their mind. That's why I'll be very wary about supporting any of the involved companies again. Too much shady moves over there.
I don't think that a game like this requires so many companies which eventually eats up part of the money in the process, slow down decisions and make management a real mess while taking away backers control over what's happening. The game right now doesn't look good so it's a good thing it got delayed to 2019 (so "coming soon" is not that soon, right GOG?).
I'll eventually purchase it on my platform of choice, but not if it turn out like it is right now.

Zoidberg: Ugh... am I the only one in thinking this art direction just awful?
No, you are not. I'm really not digging it,

RPGDEX: Never heard of this game (busy with old games). But it looks as Castlevania. And that's good.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Basically, it is Castlevania minus the name. Project creator, was the developer of Symphony of the Night, the ambiguously best Castlevania title to this very day and an all time classic video game, that defined its own genre and spawned countless clones.
I always find these Kickstarter crowdfunding projects from really well known names from the gaming industry hilarious. I can understand that a little indie company needs money to create a new game, but this "Hey, I sold millions of copies of my games on all the platforms, but now to create a new game I need your money" is just ridiculous.

I mean, this was announced like 3+ years ago, but it's good to see the product page up. I've got faith in Iga to deliver with this thing, and I'm glad it'll be DRM-free. No nonsense.

Backed this shitshow on Kickstarter. Look forward to a nebulous 2019 release date and poor communication. Would highly recommend waiting for product reviews on this one.

FTFY
"Bloodstained" title makes me think of an older Japanese game called "Perpetual Period".
I'd rather see Curse of the Moon here.

This is a special case. Konami fired him, because they reboot their franchise and changed it drastically. This man, who is IGA himself, is going to revive and renew the classic formula. This is the real deal. I have never before backed anything on kickstarter, this was a first for me (and probably a last).

Prequel minigame, which unfortunately won't come to GOG (because the second indie company to partner with him made their own rules on this game), was a smashing hit and comparable to old, classic, iconic titles of Castlevania of old, even.

Why? Do you think they are swimming in money?
Often they made some game some long time ago which sold a lot. It's not unlikely they got a fixed wage and no royalties at all, also most of the time they don't even own the IP they have created.
low rated
fantastic

now try to get the nes retro styled game with gog connect if you can because i already bought that on steam

I knew this was coming here, but I feel better seeing the actual game page.

I'm excited.
