Matewis: Awesome!

Know what the world needs? A classic Asterix RTS, with the Gauls, a Roman faction and, perhaps, a British and Egyptian faction as well. The resources can be wild boars for everyone, trees for the Romans and mistletoe for the Gauls.
Not that I'm capable to mod it, but I think a Asterix & Obelix mod for Northgard would be perfect for this.

While not an RTS, but a hybrid of several things, there was Asterix: The Gallic War. I loved it when I was a kid those 15-20 years ago. One of the "bigger" games I've played on PC back then.

Vythonaut: By Toutatis! Would certainly love to see something like that. As far as i'm concerned, there's a total lack of Asterix / Obelix strategy games. Not even a mod for some known strategy game.
There certainly is, and there is so much great material to work with!
This is very exciting to hear.

BranjoHello: Hahaha, what an interesting idea...if something like that existed it would be like Army Men RTS I guess. Microids need people with vision (and undying RTS fans) like yourself. :D
Weirdly I've somehow managed to miss Army Men. As a big RTS fan I should rectify that one of these days.

The formula will probably be a bit difficult to get right for an RTS in a way that doesn't clash too much with the series' theme. E.g. it wouldn't really work to have the Gauls' campaign be your typical RTS campaign progression in which they conquer territory after territory. But boy, if someone could get it right it'd be stellar :)

Lodium: I dont really mind the puns
as long its only Nordic doing them.

Mr.Mumbles: But it's Microids. Ha! It's going to spread! *cackles*
Damn copycats
Theres no organilty annymore
I don't know why people have a problem with puns. I guess they're simply not wordly enough to appreciate them.

Don't feel bad, so have I.

Then again I always thought Army Men is some kind of squad-based tactical "RTS" game. I prefer the good old base-building resource-gathering RTS games, like the Ages of Empires that I am right now replaying yet again.

I definitely prefer the traditional RTS formula as well, but Army Men has some extra allure I think due to the countless hours I spent playing with actual little army men myself :) Plus there is something weirdly alluring about that scale, where something like a dog's water bowl is an obstacle of major strategic significance.

Perhaps time to watch Small Soldier film again
Will the game have achievements like the others have?

Themken: They messed up as the Punic wars were before Asterix' and Obelix' time.
There are lots of anachronisms in Asterix & Obelix.
The Colloseum for example wasn't build until after Nero's death.
So what's up with this release? It showed up on the front page for a while this morning with a 28% off mark, but no price.

And now it's gone again.

What gives? I want to buy the first game in the trilogy (already own the other 2).

It is already activated for purchase on Steam. Maybe there are technical problems again. I'm waiting impatiently - it will be my first purchase since Amalur five weeks ago. Lately, GOG has rarely brought out things that interest me.

Furthermore, I consider that Batman Arkham Series must be released on GOG.
