I bought the original back the day without knowing a thing about it. It was in the bargain bin and I tough it looked pretty good. It being a good game was a pleasant surprise.

I have a hard time trusting a developer/publisher, that cannot manage to release a single patch for the in Nov'19 released Asterix XXL3, that suffers from a severe performance problem.

Both Osome and microids were justing putting me off, when I contacted their support for help. You just need to google for a "stuttering - FPS - performance" Problem in the steam forums, or the steam and gog reviews, if you need proof.

This was my thread, where a lot of user workarounds were tested and posted. Unfortunatelly none of them worked for me.

Know what the world needs? A classic Asterix RTS, with the Gauls, a Roman faction and, perhaps, a British and Egyptian faction as well. The resources can be wild boars for everyone, trees for the Romans and mistletoe for the Gauls.

With subtitles, I don't care. I always prefer seeing movies and TV series with their original language + subtitles.

Having said that, I must admit I sometimes feel the English version of Princess Mononoke (Mononoke Hime) is better than the original Japanese voice... maybe it is a cultural thing, the Japanese voice acting is too unfamiliar to me. I should have watched more anime as a kid I guess.

I still have my world of asterix box containing 4 games and asterix at the olympic games game.
Great games, but i really don't know why they need a remaster especially if they have performance issues with new versions.
For asterix and obelix xxl 1 and 2 i found a video with this title "Asterix & Obelix XXL1/2 64 bit patch / No VM, runs native / Error 50279"
And that one has a file that made my xxl 1 original game work and it's not for the remastered game.
Oh and i don't remember if gallic wars works on win xp yet even though it's part of the world of asterix box.
Still would like to see what those new modes bring.

Very nice, game of my childhood, hopefully it is a good remaster. I was quite sad they did XXL 2 (also good) instead of 1, but it's great to know it was just in works all the time.

Holy crap, it's bad enough that Nordic keeps making these awful puns, now other studios/publishers are pulling this BS, too?!

I mean, Astérix is pretty punny by design, but nothing as downright... stupid as "Romastered".

Anyway, I really liked XXL 2, so I'm keeping an eye on this one, despite the terrible pun.

Hahaha, what an interesting idea...if something like that existed it would be like Army Men RTS I guess. Microids need people with vision (and undying RTS fans) like yourself. :D

It's more a matter of taste I would say, e.g. I find this pun absolutely brilliant.
