No. I stated I have changed cable modems three times. I should have been clearer. These new modems came with the requisite "Gateway" router built in. Not a router issue. ADDED: Or I should say... it's not an issue of it being the same router and thus outdated. Back three or four speeds ago I did in fact provide my own router... but not any longer. These new modems come with Gateway wi-fi already built in. No routers needed. But I guess technically it could be an issue inside those. But it would have to repeated as this is IIRC the third one I've gotten with the built in router. (May just be the second... but i think it's the third.). The reason for the changes were changes to my ISP plan. I kept "upgrading" my speeds and they kept claiming a new modem was needed to deliver it.

Welp... that went EXACTLY as I expected. I'm not even going to go into all the detail here because all of it equals exactly what I thought.... my internet speeds are fine and working as intended.

"Comcast is not responsible for third party software" (which is what browsers are)... etc. etc. etc. etc. "Speedtests confirm your internet is working at speeds advertised"... etc. etc. etc. etc. "Download speeds on wi-fi vary greatly and are not guaranteed by Comcast."... etc. etc. etc.

I'm putting in a phone call to FIOS. LOL, in fact, with their triple play package (phone, internet, and TV) their internet is even FASTER. LOL. Oh well... been with Comcast since 2008 guess that's long enough.

Of course what happens when I get FIOS all hooked up and go to download my GOG games (or Humble Bundle or Gamersgate games) and get 3.5MB/s in browser is going to be.... interesting. But it wouldn't shock me a tiny bit. Not. One. Bit. In fact, if I had to bet which way it was going to go... I'd bet that's EXACTLY what's going to happen.

Thank gog for over the phone tech help though.. otherwise it would have been a $59.99 on site visit charge to my bill. At least I avoided that.

If I remember. I'm sure it will be weeks at least before I can get FIOS out here to run the lines to the house and set everything up. I mean I'm pretty sure I'll remember, but I know I'll remember if the first time I try and download something I get the same 3.5MB/s... but if things work normally... well.. my memory doesn't LOL.

But yeah, I'll try. Just no promises.

I wonder why carmageddon max pack was downloading longer than other games like 30 minutes for 277mb on 16th march, like downloading gurumin game which is now fixed takes 7 minutes and is 974mb.Empire earth 5 minutes or even less
This was all on firefox ESR and my speed in the browser usually reaches 2mb per second.
I believe my internet speed goes maxium to 3mb per second.
Anyway when i downloaded carmageddon max pack i got very fluctating speeds and also low speed in downloading.
Some internet speed test says i have 42mbps so technicly dividing by 8 doesn't that mean i should get 5mb per second?
