A game that has a huge cult following around the world finally gets some new adjustments. As the creator of Stardew Valley sums up – 1.4 update purpose is not just to add new content, but to make the game even more enjoyable.

For example, some tools will now prove to be more efficient. Moreover, every spouse of the main character will get an additional after-marriage quest. Gamers will also receive a convenient screenshot button to make a photo of their farm, which they can later share with friends. To celebrate its 1.4 update release, Stardew Valley will be available on GOG.COM with a 10% discount until 3rd December 2019, 6 PM UTC.

Not only Stardew Valley fans will be satisfied with improvements and additional features today. A free DLC for the Project Hospital game, called Doctor Mode, is out now on GOG.COM. Also, you can buy Tangledeep – Dawn of Dragons DLC, with a 10% discount until 3rd December 2019, 5 PM UTC.

indiapearl85: I have been trying since the release to figure out how to even download the stupid update. i love this game, its the only game i play and i am going to delete it off my system. when i google for help all i get is more wonderul teasers of content upload. i used GOG to download the origional game why cant i update it? i am so frustrated i am about to no longer be a player and a customer and that is fucking sad.
Are you using galaxy or do you download the game from your web browser? I don't know where the problem is you go to your library from your web browser and click on the game and it should have a list of the offline installers + the update patch if it is not implemented on the offline installers.If you are using galaxy it should be easier because it updates the games automatically..

Did someone of the Linux users ever catch one of the new two fisch? Meanwhile I caught every fish except the new ones. I could only purchase a midnight carp at the travelling merchant. Are they really that rare? Or are they not fully implemented in the Linux version 1.4? As long as the new fish are not catchable for Linux users they will be unable to complete the Star Avard collection. Is this my personally fault? If not, is there a workaround? The game itself runs perfect on openSUSE. I'm running the latest downloadable version (1.4.3.379) from GOG.

I don't have Linux. (I also haven't played the update yet.)

From the Stardew Valley Wiki: (SPOILERS)
Midnight Carp:
Mountain Lake, Cindersap Forest pond
10 pm – 2 am, Fall + Winter, Any Weather
Flounder:
Ocean
6 am – 8 pm, Spring + Summer, Any Weather

Well, Flounder doesn't seem to be rare at all (a timeframe of 14 hours), Midnight Carp could be difficult due to the nighttime (and falling asleep at 2 am).

I caught a couple of midnight carps in the mountain lake in winter (1.4.3.379 @ Linux Mint)

I actually got my hands on a midnight carp. Some 1.4.x version on Windows, through my farm lake.

Thank you for your quick response. So it's not an implementation fault in the Linux version but personal bad luck. This gives hope and so I'm exempt from filing a wrong error report.

Edit:
Problem solved! After some more days (InGame) of unsuccessful fishing I installed new from scratch. Now the new fish bites rather instantly.
