Hello,

yesterday I bought Baldur's Gate II: Complete Edition. The payment went through and I got a confirmation e-mail. The game appeared under "My Games", but when I changed the view and tried to hide the 7 games that are there initially, it disappeared. It's not hidden, it's completely gone. Everywhere else on the website it shows the game as "Owned" and offers me to re-download. When I click that, I'm back to "My Games", where it doesn't appear. I can't get it to show up again.

I contacted support, but haven't got a reply a day later.

Generally the website feels unreliable, here's another bug: From the start (gog.com), click "Browse Games" at the top. Next to "Filter by:", hover "System" and click "10.7+" (under Mac OS X). Now you see only games for that system, so far so good. But click on for example "Role-playing" near the top of the page, and you get a new list, where windows-only games are visible again. Now hover "System" again, and you should see that "10.7+" is still marked as active, which is of course misleading and wrong.

Does this help? Apart from that, cookies cleaned up?

Neither of these helped...

Does clicking this link gets you to download the first part of the installer? If yes, then it seems to be a problem with the hidden games, and support should be able to sort you out today or tomorrow at the latest. If it doesn't, then the site isn't detecting you as owning the game.

Try unhiding one of the free games. There seems to be a problem when you try to hide all free games and just own one "bought" game. I had the same problem once.

Edit: Spelling.

This solved the problem. Thank you.

(and problems like these should really be fixed on a website where you pay money)

I assume that problems like these rarely come up. Not many people just buy one game and try to hide all other free games. And I didn't inform support about this problem. My guess is they just don't know about it. Feel free to send them an email or use the support form.

Anymore there's a lot of moving parts. There's the Database in the background, there's PHP (or another language) the site runs on, there's Javascript, there's secondary javascript possibly from other sources, CSS, etc. Bugs are bound to be present one way or another. At least the page and site doesn't look like a beta version of a downloader that never gets updated in any good ways and has huge amounts of wasted space on both sides for no real good reason... (I'm referring to Steam)

Of all the possible problems, it's the DataBase one i'd be worried about the most. As for changes and bugs in the interface of the website, it should be rather easy to add functionality as usually it just comes down to how the SQL statement is comprised before sending you the formatted data. But they probably have enough trouble with resolving all the recent tickets they have, and trying to get more and more games out there and deals to keep us happy.
I owned about 50 games, not ever changed settings to see/hide free ones. and all but the last 2 purchased batches have disappeared today! Asked support, waiting for reply.

Judging by the frequency of such complaints (I would hazard a guess at 3-4 a week?), "rare" is not what I'd describe. I love GOG, but I agree with basteln - this problem should have been long fixed (as should the search engine problem in list view).

Edit:

Wait a minute - wutzwutz, was there any need to necro this thread?

Necro? The thread is one month old and about a similar issue. :P
what do you mena necro ?

the thread is just a month old
it pertains to the same problem

and wutzwutz felt it was not neccasary to clutter up the forum with a similair thread if there is one thats barely a month old
I just bought one game and tried to hide all the free ones. All games have disappeared, including the bought one. And there is no "unhide" button or link. Suggestions?

Try changing to the list view instead of the shelf view and look if the "unhide games" option is there. Also did you try an account refresh?
