Yeah, yeah, I know. This is just the upteenth reincarnation of frustration threads in the glorious (*coughs*) history of the GOG forum. But come on! It wasn't that bad in years!
Please GOG, get your staff together and give them hell like this, or better like THIS!

Make them call 505 Games and politely ask for Death Stranding.
Push them to call SEGA and urge for Alpha Protocol, Company of Heroes and Alien Isolation!
Kick them hard to make DDOS-like calls to Bethesda and f*cking demand, DEMAND an explanation for the f*cking absence of Doom, Fallout4, Rage1+2 and some other title beginning with S i forgot!!1!

Please do that, okay? Okay!? *imperious staring without blinking*

It's always entirely subjective whether the new releases are garbage, average or MOST AWESOME EVAH!!!1!

In most release threads, even for games that look like boring, bland nothing or total crap there's always people saying that the game looks fantastic and they'll be buying it immediately. Even the games you list, some would love to see them here, others could not care less. I mean, I would not touch Death Stranding with a ten-foot laser pole.

And while I agree that recent releases haven't been great, I'm not really complaining either - there's over a hundred games on my wishlist, it's not like I'm going to run out of stuff to buy. I could probably go years without anything new interesting for me appearing here and still have games left to purchase.

So what you are saying is that you want more AAA games ? ok fine but i disagree. There's plenty if good games if you know where to look and personally i don't need AAA games left and right.

I think there's plenty to come in future winter, summer and spring sales but i would always be catiously optimistic when it comes to the large publishers.

Bethesda was bought by Microsoft. I doubt that we see more releases from their catalog here.

I mean, yesterday's triple A games are today's good old games. Alpha Protocol is 11 years old, Skyrim and Rage are nearly a decade old. I understand developers not wanting to release their brand new triple A titles DRM-free, even though I would much rather they do, but when your game is a decade old it's really kind of silly to be messing with DRM still.

It is stupid !

Despite that, Bethesda has a better track record than EA, Activision and Ubisoft because those 3 loves drm. Ubisoft rather dig a hole and bury their own games than removing drm it seems. Despite my hatred of them i would buy if they released more games drm free because that would be one good thing and doing a good thing should be rewarded but fuck it all, they are just not interested in releasing games without drm anymore.

This. OP, maybe you're not big on the recent releases, but for me the new Rimworld DLC looks enticing, and Cris Tales is right up my alley.

Fallout 4 sucks very badly and so does Death Stranding and Doom 2016.

Alien: Isolation and Rage 2 were already both free on EGS, so there is not much point in GOG trying to release them in exchange for money now, LOL.

GOG is in no position to "demand" anyone to release anything here. If they could get releases, then they would do so. If they don't, then it's because they can't.

Welcome to the summer drought, all game releases are slow.

I mean, we are still in the middle of a pandemic, with many countries only now starting to get 2nd doses distributed.

Absolutely correct. There's a huge discrepancy between the perceived value and leverage GOG carries and reality.

My estimates still stand at GOG owning 0.27% of the PC digital distribution market share in revenue. It's difficult to make demands in an already saturated market when you don't have the user counts or lower barriers to market that Steam or EGS have.

I wouldn't assume there won't be more releases just because Microsoft bought Bethesda. Microsoft is still letting them operate the same way they always have. Their games are still here, if they were taken down then I might consider worrying.

You don't know a truly boring release schedule unless you've suffered through "Mind-blowing May".
I need a little bit of boring to be honest, since I've been spending so much money with all the great games coming out. We just had Ys IX: Monstrum Nox this month which was a big release for action - JRPG fans.

Not sure what's coming in August, but September is gonna be good for me with three day one pickups in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Succubus, and Gamedec.

Bad taste detected.

russellskanne: Boah, was GOGs release schedule ever this boring?!
How can you say such a thing after their bombshell releases of Kitty Powers’ Love Life and Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker?
