russellskanne: At all the ones saying "GOG can't demand...blabla", I think the tone of my post made it pretty clear that I'm not 100% serious about this. Are you new to the internet?

Btw, when i speak of AAA, I'm also referring to older non-indie games, like Diablo 2, Starcraft, Mass Effect, Max Payne etc., not just the newest shit.
If GOG wants to survive it has to do more than just selling the next h*ntai shovelware and secure the big players. And preferably day-one releases. I don't know how much nagging and nudging GOG is really doing, but it's probably not enough.
Subjectively (and maybe objecively (where is Jmitch when you need him?)) this was a boring year.
Boring and with questional corporate decisions. But if GOG is ok with an "Get Off Galore" image for future generations, then so be it...
Eh Max Pain is a AA not a AAA game from what I recall of the ip listings atleast up till the third game .. Basically what would be better put is A , AA and older AAA games then as being what you meant..
For example BeamNG Drive is on steam early access and humble and I believe other buying ways....not on Gog though....what do customers have to beg gog to put games on here for them to buy.....wtf I often wonder what they are doing.

Exactly, A+AA=AAA. Like I said...
Ok, maybe I shouldn't have used the AAA term and instead just written "non-indie".

About the AAA Good Old Games, Im almost 100% sure it's not GOG's fault on this. Which is even sadder.

Many of those companies had "Remasters" and "Remakes" planned long before announcing it.
Why Ubisoft never released Splinter Cell Chaos Theory here? Well maybe because there's a Remake coming!
Why Bethesda never released Skyrim here? Well maybe because there's ANOTHER version of the same game coming! lol

To each company with it's own reasons, but meh... Not GOG's fault in those ones imo. :P

No A and AA aswell as AAA games are three different game types in the mainstream gaming sphree so your view of listing them as all under AAA makes no sense as A and AA games are the only mainstream games truly allowed to take risks and experiment rather then be formulaic as the loss if they fail is not that big for a mix of budget and often a new ip... true AAA games used to take risks and experiment regularly but they are far more anymore just formulaic to minimize risk risk of failing and gain profts being more or less assured

Basically now A and AA games are the ''indie and psuedo indie of the mainstream gaming world'' where as AAA games are ''cooperate approved at every level game'' basically .. Thus while I agree GOGO needs more none indie games coming in I don't agree with you lumping A and AA games in with AAA games as being full on the same unless its just saying'' none indie games'' or ''mainstream games ''

tfishell: Tomorrow is marked as a "Release" day. We've been getting releases every day during the sale but GOG saw fit to point Dec 17 out as a "Release" day in the Winter Sale page, seemingly special for some reason. (I don't know what made the releases on Dec 14 worth pointing out, maybe GOG felt one or more of those releases stood out compared to most releases)

Memecchi: Yeah, if gog considered the Dec 14 releases high profile-ish I'm tempering my expectations *a lot*
Isaac + Cave Story seems to be the safest bet
Those are relatively high-profile "AA" or indie-adjacent titles and have thousands of wishlist votes, but if someone
already owns them on Steam (which is most people who'd actually care about them) for a long time now, they might not care about the GOG release, unless there's a deep discount and they double-dip. Plus Nicalis' bad reputation.

But I'm glad they showed up because of all those wishlist votes.

For me I held out till they shown up here same as I held out for the Tomb raider games that recently shown up and other games I wanted as I am serious in wanting just drm free games .. So odds are the number of gamers wanting such and holding out are larger then believed but smaller then most would like on holding out for drm-free versions of games

BanditKeith2: That's what I am pretty sure as its the only ''Horizon'' game I am aware of that has a sequal coming out and ''Horizon '' is basically the ip name given its the only shared part of the two titles names
I'm not convinced anymore, doing a search for Horizon I see several games.

Horizon Zero Dawn, Mars Horizon, Lost Horizon, Lost Horizon 2, Stellaris: Horizon Signal.

On steam i see a straight Horizon, along with Event Horizon, Horizon's Gate, Horizon Beyond, Blue Horizon, Horizon Shift, Delta Horizon....

Thats fair still I am assuming Horizon meant the one I mentioned as its currently as far as I am aware the most high profile Horizon labeled game with sequel coming could be wrong but eh whatever
