I'm not gonna say the game was the best thing ever but I did not mind it at all. It had it's moments and was ok for the time. I would not mind to see it here for a decent price to add it to the collection.

timppu: I forgot you could occasionally become an alien, with alien powers, which was kinda cool. Or do remember that wrong?

I guess I mainly felt it was "poor man's Halo" was because it had a somewhat similar futuristic military setting, but without e.g. the outdoor sections and driving and such as Halo did. Indoors all the time in some industry complex, if I recall right.
That does sound vaguely familiar...

My memory is hazy, but yes it was mostly industry complex, with some UFO interior levels later on iirc. I seem to recall a pleasant sense of verticality and scale in the levels.
In case you missed it - apparently this was just an attempt from someone completely random and not affiliated with Warner Bros. (who still own the rights and have in fact not sold it off) abusing the uncurated publishing system on the other platform to see how far he could take it and sell some illegitimate copies before Warner Bros. would swoop in with a cease and desist.

This is what happens when everyone can release every piece of shit on your platform these days because of very weak verification processes.

Interesting, thanks. I don't have high hopes for the Area 51 games showing up any time soon if WB Games is in the process of being bought, especially if it's Microsoft (hell we could lose the games we already have), but I hope they do.

Maybe instead of hoarding copyright until the heat death of the universe, publishers should be required to actually use it or lose it.
I remember playing BlackSite: Area 51, back when it was fairly new and pretty buggy. It's exactly the kind of game I'd like to see here, if some of the bugs can be fixed.

It was very much an average linear shooter, just disposable fun with no pretentions. Sometimes that's exactly what I want as a casual break from large open world games with complex systems.
I don't remember anything from that game. I feel like it was the case of that generation - dozens of forgettable brown'n'grey bloom infested action games. Some of them had some gimmicks, most of them - don't.
