darthspudius: Im a lucky boy, I saw a lot of the reunion tours. Sadly King Diamond and co never come over here. I've seen quite a few great performances mind you. Twisted Sisted, Europe, Hanoi Rocks, Scorpions, Helloween. I mention Europe, those guys are just fantastic, one of my favourite live bands.

Na man that pre-dated emo, they were still skater boys and nu metal kids then lol.

You know something is wrong when I would rather listen to Limp Bizkit than this, I mean at least Wes Borland is a good guitarist :P

Zoltan999: btw..I was a big Def Leppard as well. While many probably just thought of them as another "Hair" band, they were extremely talented, and produced some incredible music. My girlfriend and just recently re-watched their bio-movie 'Hysteria" while I was weeding through my old DVD collection....a good watch.
Def Leppard didn't really become a "hair band" until Hysteria came out later in the 80s. From their start through Pyromania, a lot of folks thought they were badass, sort of working in the same vein as AC/DC.

I saw them in concert a few years ago, along with Cheap Trick and Poison. Cheap Trick was great but the crowd didn't know who they were. Poison...say what you will about Bret Michaels, those guys know how to put on a fun show. Def Leppard was very good, although Joe Eliott's voice sounded a little rough.

Poor Joe hasn't had much luck with his voice. He's very prone to getting a cold haha. He has had issues the last time iv seen them but at the same time he can still hold his own.

Yeah I be lying to myself and not admit that at least Glam/Hair Metal are still more Metal then the "other genres"

Fuck what the thrash guys think haha. Twisted Sister is what every metal band should be. Loud, in your face and not giving two shits.

Haha got to love Dee Snider. Thing with Twisted Sister is they were 10 yrs older then the american glam metal scene in the '80s. These boys had been blaring Judas Priest in theaters for years. So I would say the heavy metal comes first, the glam was just to get attention (which Dee has admitted). It worked lol.

So anyway if you notice what was the first post that bumped this thread to today I watched this guy and for the most part he bashed on Iron Maiden post Fear of the Dark (well he did pretty much destroy 7th son of a 7th son)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQC0YuY3cIE

But I am still waiting for him to do a Metal Mythos on a Thrash Metal band already.

Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Metallica, Sepultura, Pantera.

Come on Razorfist I'm starving for a Thrash Mythos already :P

Honestly, I don't like his work. Iron Maiden did a lot of great stuff up until Brave New World. Went seriously off after that. But no doubt he would praise the big four, forget who exodus are and Pantera being the greatest thing ever which is absolutely laughable.

Speaking of Exodus and it might be a controversial statement I think Rob Dukes is a better singer than Paul Baloff.

And I think the Let There Be Blood remake is better then the original:
