Hey, kind of OT.

Do you need to play those in order?
I could never get into #1 and 2 but I've always been really curious to try #3 even though I am so awful with TBS.

Every game has a different main character with a different story, the only constant is the wasteland as far as I know.
I'd say you don't have to play them in order. :)

Too bad they skipped Fallout 69 :(

Does 3 have movement points like 1 and 2?

There are some references and some recurring characters, but you can pretty much start from the game you want. Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout New Vegas share the same development philosophy and some of the developers. Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are made by Bethesda Game Studios, and are a bit different (less focus on character development and quest design, more focus on world design, exploration etc.). A lot of the hardcore original fans tend to hate 3 & 4, but I think they were pretty good (Fallout 3 is actually one of my favorite games ever).

Fallout 3, Fallout NV and Fallout 4 are not turn-based, they are first (or third, but this mode kind of sucks) person action games and feature something called "VATS" which gives you the possibility to slow down (or stop, depending on the game) time, but they're real time :)

Gede: Oh, I have totally forgotten that Fallout 4 existed. But since it is not on GOG, it does not matter much.

How would people here sort the Fallout titles from best to worse?
Fallout > Fallout 2 > Fallout: New Vegas > Fallout Tactics > Fallout 3 > Fallout 4. Haven't played Brotherhood of Steel, nor do I intend to.

It's just my opinion, but anyway: Fallout 3 > Fallout 1 > Fallout NV = Fallout 4 > Fallout 2 (yeah, I know, I'm a bad person, but I really didn't like FO2)

Fallout 2
Fallout New Vegas
Fallout
Fallout 4
Fallout 3

I really don't get putting 4 below 3. Yes the new dialog system is balls but the enhanced shooting, better writing and faction systems with actual choice and consequence more than make up for it. It's not New Vegas level stuff but it's miles above FO3.
well shit, should I get #3 or not? :P

If I recall correctly you haven't played any of the 3D ones, so I would just skip to New Vegas. Ten times better game. If you HAVE played New Vegas and loved it then FO3 is probably worth a punt. It's the worst one IMO but it's still a fun open world Bethesda game, if you like that kinda thing. I feel like you should know if you like that kinda thing. ;p

Okay.
When the next sale comes up I'll snag New Vegas and skip #3.

Elmofongo: So what exactly will this game be?
pay to win with CC delivering the best gear/options.
there is also another article that states there will be no "external" mods available meaning if you want mods you have to pay for them through CC, this is EXACTLY what I predicted when they dumped CC on us.

Knowing Buthesda it will releases at 60$, then knowing/watching CC, options will run from 6-12$ each, skins 2-5$ this is the biggest money grab Bugthesda can make....

No Mods

If no modding and heavy online components are true then the game will be dead at launch because then no one will be able to fix their shitty game design and other flaws that come with their games.

I'd like to see the day BGS abandon mods outside of Creation Club and the community outrage following it except for the hardcore fanboys but even i doubt that Zenimax/Bethesda would be that stupid.
