Kardwill: Mkay, I think I have my answer. Thanks, kiddo, that's been instructive. I'll make sure to never interact with you as a fellow human being ever again.

Aaaand I'm off to join the dreaded family dinner. Happy holidays to everybody else.
Goodbye and that's a very constructed comment also.
If you don't like the intro to the original Baldur's Gate, definitely don't ever play the Enhanced version. Its a remake of the original cinematic with even poorer graphics.

Remake is a stretch. More like, they used the storyboards of the original intro.
Elmofongo, why did you even ask this question ? Who cares about opening cinematic intros anyway ? Cinematics and cutscenes are annoying in my opinion : at best they can (when well-positioned within a game) be an enhancement to a game. When they are not well positioned and / or if there are too many of them, they can bore, irritate and frustrate the hell out of the gamer who just wants to get on with the game. Do you have a problem with the reputation of Baldur's Gate as one of the best RPGs of all time merely on the basis of the game's opening ? Do you really take cinematics and cutscenes into account when you judge the merit of a game, or are you just nitpicking because you really want to say that another RPG is better, in your opinion, than Baldur's Gate ?

I beg your pardon. I meant to ask, Why did you even make this statement ?

I like your posts, by the way, they tend to be about games themselves and not about the games industry or some incredibly boring business or legal question or announcement. I mean, how many people on GOG are "just gamers" ?
