It is the last weekend before the Autumn Sale ends on September 11th, 10 PM UTC! So far, we’ve had some exciting new releases, 3 giveaways, great bargains to enrich your library, and more! But that doesn’t mean we’re slowing down just yet. To have a perfect weekend ahead of you…

We’ve prepared a GIVEAWAY of a 1999’s classic Requiem: Avenging Angel, and super deals on indie gems!

Let’s take a look!

Starting with the GIVEAWAY – feel free to claim your copy of Requiem: Avenging Angel for the next 72 hours (until September 11th, 1 PM UTC).

This 1999’s classic is a 3D, first-person action game of biblical proportions set in a world under siege. A holy war rages on Earth between Heaven's Chosen Soldiers and Hell's Fallen Angels. You are Malachi, a Chosen Angel, sent to Earth to save Creation from the wrath of the Fallen. Blast your way through an immersive futuristic 3D world developing Angelic powers like possession, blood boil, locust swarms, and the ability to turn your enemies to pillars of salt. Without you, mankind doesn't have a prayer.

Now, with our love for passionate developers, we’d like to invite you to browse ALL the amazing deals we have on indie titles during the Autumn Sale.

It’s the perfect occasion to immerse yourself in hand-crafted worlds of some of the very best that the indie scene has to offer and that sometimes might be overlooked. A good suggestion, although it requires one to believe GOG, which I personally have stopped doing years ago.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to make a point, you posted a link which has consequences for privacy without explaining what it does, so anyone who doesn't know or wanders into this thread randomly and clicks it will have their data sent to wherever without warning.

Understood. Added a footnote to my original post.
high rated
Dont have to claim anything. Dont have to consent to anything.
They are doing it for marketing, to spread their influence, which I understand.
Today its all about advertisement. If people dont know about you, they dont buy your goods. And everybody automatically goes to steam, epic games or such. I dont know kids who willingly just go to GoG first and foremost. And i guess parents just dont care to peruse stores to "find GoG", they just stick to Steam- because "ITS BIG and ITS SAFE and EVERYBODY USES IT" and so on. So in order for GoG to survive and try to expand they must be doing some advertisement campaign.

So please people, if you can understand that much cut them a slack.
This is pretty friendly platform compared to some others and some of its ideals/goals are DEAR to me, worth fighting for.
I can just hope they are dear to some of you too.

And remember you dont have to consent to anything, You dont have to click/claim anything.

Yeah no, i don't risk losing my account just because i use a VPN.... Valve doesn't like that either. Not worth losing my library. Besides.... if you have money on your wallet, it is NOT available if you log in with a different country IP. Instead you are required to add funds again from the local currency of the country IP you are logged in. GOG has made sure that staying on the legal path to buy games is made as hard and as un-inviting as possible.....

No wonder piracy simply doesn't cease to exist...

You don't risk losing your account.

What many here don't understand is that GOG is not a subsidiary for the German judiciary.

As a matter of fact, GOG is just doing the bare minimum to comply with the German law, by not letting us Germans have direct and unobstructed access, to games that are on the index in Germany.

Which is all it has to do.

Btw: the use of VPNs is 100% legal in Germany.
To put it another way: to use a VPN to access these games is not illegal in Germany.

So, GOG does not have to set up technical measures to prevent German users from accessing their site via VPNs.

And trust me: the absolute last thing GOG would ever do, is to exclude you from buying more games from them, by closing your account, just because you use a VPN to access a free game.
Thanks GOG.

Actually that is not because of VPNs but mostly because of Tax reasons. Can't allow the "little" people to do the same as the big companies and select the countries with the least taxes. Yes I know in germany the taxes are usually already include in the price, but that is not everywhere the case, sometimes you have to remember if you have to add them when searching for the lowest regional pricing :)
Not to mention that for example al capone only got caught/convicted of Tax avoidance.

But in this case how much Tax has someone to pay for something free?

The link I posted does not require a VPN. It simply claims the game (and turns on a marketing checkbox or two, in case it matters to you). I believe it should work in Germany too.
