nightcraw1er.488: So y is very unlikely to release anything more on GOG. The cyberjunk debacle proved how bad CDPr are and Sony dropped it completely from their store. I doubt they would want any further association. If you want to play those games, best play on ps3/4/5. I know it’s not ideal, the PS4 only outputs hd so it’s annoying on an ultra wide monitor, but if you buy the discs then there is just the disc check. And the ps3 emulator has come on a long way.
Dumb Take Sony don't decide where to release games on anything, but if SONY games sell well, not 3rd Party Published games.

The biggest factor determining whether GOG get other SONY published games, is the sales of Horizon:zero Dawn.
To be honest I NEVER expected to see ANY Somy publshed game here, never mind that one.
I bought it on Steam, just happy to see it on PC, then within 4 months it came to GOG.

I suspect many people that would have waited for a GOG release, jumped on the Steam version like I did.
I suspect many people that jumped on the Steam version like I did, didn't also by it on GOG, like I did..

Days Gone hasn't come to GOG, and so I doubt any more Sony games will come to GOG, much as I'd like them to.
I won't be waiting for a GOG release of Forbidden West, unless Days Gone, God Of War, and whatever other games Sony releases in the mean time.

If I'm wrong I will gladly by the GOG version, even if I own the game on Steam, but few value offline installers, and store client free gaming as much as me, even on GOG, and devs give us a second class service far to often, I don't mind waiting longer for patches, but I do object to never getting them.

Simple fact is far too many people buy from Steam, and too few Any other store, not even Epic.
I Doubt Epic's share is that high, even for the games they paid big bucks for, most gamers waited for Steam release
Epic are burning through their Fortnite money hand over fist, and seen little benefit from It.

The disclosure docs in Apple lawsuit make that crystal clear, Steam has far to many uncritical fangirls.
Epic's Anti-Consumer tactics have gained no converts outside the Steam echo chamber either.
Lots of people grab their free games, but I suspect few if any of them spend much money their.

Then again, I don't fall for the "Get free base game", BS. with Unspoken bit being "You'll never see added content in a sale afterwards".
Crappy Game Pass Rental service uses same marketing BS,
Having 100s of old games, when 95% are games I'll never, play and the good 5% I already own.

GamePass won't even guarantee access, games get rolled off, all the time. GamePass Rental Sucks.
So I'll be sticking to buying my PC games, and modding them for years at MY will.
Streaming is even worse, and fails to gain any traction with PC gamers, hell even NFTs did better, and we ALL gamers hate that shit.

I've never seen ANY games I actually wanted, and didn't buy years earlier given away for "Free", from any store, GOG included.
Tbh, I started being bothered by great releases not being DRM-free more than 20 years ago.

On the contrary, streaming is very profitable if you have big boobs.

TheNamelessOne_PL: Anyone else frustrated by how many great new releases are not available DRM-free?

The last game I purchased on Steam was more than a year ago. I intend to keep it that way. I "own" on Steam most video games that I want to play, but which are not likely to get a DRM-free release in the foreseeable future.

However, there have been quite a few newer release that I would like to play, but are only on Steam and doesn't seem like they are coming to GOG. In order of how important they are to me:

1. Uncharted 4 PC version (accounced, though not yet released). I am playing Uncharted 2 on PS3 right now, and having a good time. I would like to get it on GOG, but I assume it will be a Steam only release.
2. Elden Ring
3. God of War.

I would pay for all these games, but unfortunately, it seems like we are only getting them on Steam. The game by Sony that I think I would be the least interested in, that is Horizon: Zero Dawn, is the only one on GOG.

I feel frustrated, because I want to play these games, but I am not paying so much money for DRM'ed versions. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Wish they would just release them on GOG.
it's the devs that don't want their games to be DRM free.

My BOOBS are fine as they are, unstreamed, but I was talking buying games (Stadia, XCloud, PSNow, etc.), as opposed to downloading GOG Installers.

Can't mod in BIG BOOBS if you stream the game. Viewers won't know you modded the BIG BOOBS in unless you expose the underBOOBS scarring.

Note: Post modded to make all my BOOBS into BIG BOOBS. for your viewing pleasure.

You don't remember the Twitch streamers? So they do stream the game, but they have software that allows you to see them too. And they'll wear something revealing. This is how Amouranth started. They also pretended to like video games, even though they made the screen small so that you would see more of them and less of the game. Later, Twitch added an IRL section and then the hot tub stream came about. Many of the girls admitted that they hated video games and the nerds who played them and only streamed games because that's the only thing they were originally allowed to do.

Long story short, Amouranth is now a millionaire. She also bought seventeen gas stations to help with her tax issues. A lot of these other girls are also becoming stupid rich off this work and it literally involves boobs, or slips of genitalia in a place where minors are present. Sure, they got banned a time or two, but Twitch brought them right back on because of the revenue they generate and their parent company Amazon loves that. So yes, streaming is very profitable, especially if we want to start talking about the VTuber scene and all the drama involved with that. There are all these guys who want the Asian woman who plays the character Kson to kick them in the balls and do horrible things to them and they've paid her hundreds to thousands of dollars. Streaming isn't just profitable, it destroyed a generation.
No, not really. I stopped suffering from the mental disease of FOMO years ago.

Most modern blockbuster games are hilariously overrated, and only budge innovation forward inches at a time or are complete car wrecks.

And as of Red Dead Redemption 2 and many other games, one man's treasure is a Ford Pinto to another. Some of us don't have the time nor desire to see a realistic animal skinning in real time and feel that such overwrought details add nothing to the game and are just portfolio padding for the animators and artists.

TheGrimLord: Secondly, I asked him as a developer, what would have happened to this site if Cyberpunk 2077 had been a commercial success? He stated that the game would have opened a lot of AAA doors for CDPR. There was a partnership with WB you might recall. If the game had been everything that was expected of it from day one (and I know it's made great strides since then) we wouldn't have the kind of storefront we do now. There's no doubt in his mind that other developers and companies would have gladly brought their games over to a store where such an acclaimed title was being sold. GOG were banking on that game to be successful, and when it failed to meet the standards of their investors, it really ruined things for them.
No their investors pushing it out before it was ready and without effective quality assurance at the sole descretion of the developer (and hence who is ultimately responsible for the decision) of the product is the one entity that 'really ruined it for them'.
You make a product for market; you make it well or at least not defective because consumers are not going to give you part of their life's worth of effort in the form of a monetary IOU (which is what all money effectively is) for your slackware crap.

Cyberpunk was a fresh example of this concept that has possibly a million precedents no business owner seems to ever consider and always pays the price of.
Failure was their own.

TheGrimLord: This was wholly unnecessary, and only the Larry or Dracula 3 are on Zoom. Certainly not all the hentai.
You didn't check my list very well did you ... or where I said 'have been' at ZOOM.

Clearly it was totally necessary to counter your erroneous claim.

Here's a few to get you started with a proper check.

7,62 High Calibre
A.I.M. Racing
A.I.M.2 Clan Wars
Return to Mysterious Island
Return to Mysterious Island 2
Theatre of War
Theatre of War 2 - Africa 1943
Theatre of War 2 - Battle for Caen
Theatre of War 2 - Centauro
Theatre of War 3 - Korea
Theatre of War 2 - Kursk 1943

And that's just the ones I recall off the top of my head. I know there is others ... currently available there or no longer so.

I just copy and pasted my whole list, without spending any time editing it ... left that up to you or others ... especially for you due to your erroneous claim. Many like the Hentai I have indeed never seen at ZP.

I am also naturally aware ZOOM has a lot not on my IndieGala freebie list, but I wasn't referring to them, and IndieGala haven't stopped giving away freebies, so who knows what is coming down the line.

My only claim is that it wasn't helpful, as they would have been likely purchases ... by me at least. A good number of them have never been available at GOG either .. so that begs a few questions.

P.S. You may not be aware of two facts. One, I like creating lists of purchases. Two, I have program that gets the name of every game available at the ZOOM Platform, along with price changes. It also contains entries for games no longer available there. So I do know what I am talking about.
