N1c3_0n3: It's good to know that this "we can do anything we want" clause existed even back then. Doesn't change my point in any way but still good to know.
What point? You haven't cited a person here who lost their games because of GOG's supposed 'authoritarian' forum rules despite having a termination clause back in 2008 that let them ban anyone from their libraries for any reason. The last incident I remember for forum misconduct was someone personally attacking another's gender unpromptedly and the perpetrator only lost access to posting on the forums and not their entire library.
The idea that I'm grouped as a "tyranny supporter" for not wanting things like racism here is ridiculous. You know Aristotle's golden rule of "treat others the way you want to be treated"? It's basic common decency to your fellow man. Because unlike an RPG, everyone knows you can't control what race you're born as IRL. So what justification is there to allow those topics of discussions if I'm trying to justify this "obviously evil" sentiment?
I don't even think people deserve to lose their games even if their forum conduct is completely unacceptable, minus blatant piracy. People like the anti-Russian Ukrainians and an unnamed user who asserted that "chink" wasn't racist have all still kept their games. The only conclusion I'm arriving at is over-exaggeration, out of touch, and lacking nuance between a games forum and real life.
