Does anyone know if the game allows the user to save at any time?

Nope. You only save at certain points on the map – and managing your way to them is a quite important part of gameplay here.

So it has an overworld map of some kind?

Yes, it has. "Chambers" with save points and teleports are marked there once visited/discovered.

Does it work with an Xbox 360 controller too?

In that matter I have no idea, sorry.

It should. I played through it with an XBone pad, and I have yet to come across a game that accepts one but not the other..

Do you know if the game allows the user to remap the buttons for the controller?
Weird, I thought this game was given for free if you buy Alwa's Legacy (the sequel).
I thought this was kind of a permanent "bundle", I do not remember any time constraint in that promotion when the game was released here.

edit: sorry, I forgot to mention, I would also be interested to know if keys can be re-mapped in both games.

edit 2: huh, seems there has already been a confusion on the matter in the release thread (can anyone confirm if the bundle still stands?)

It doesn't. It's a bit silly to announce a bundle as if it's an indefinite thing with no end date and then silently end it without telling anyone while accidentally removing it from the library of those who got the bundle.

Hello!

Lead Designer of both Alwa's Awakening and Alwa's Legacy here :)

Just thought I'd clarify the bundle we had during launch. When we first discussed this bundle with GOG they suggested it and we agreed because we thought it was a great deal to launch with. But we misunderstood each other and from our side it was a launch offer and from GOG's side it was a permanent bundle. We reached out a few weeks after the release and asked why the bundle was still up and they said it was permanent. We agreed to take it down since it wouldn't be fair to customers on other platforms if one game was given for free.

So this was entirely a result of miscommunication and we're really sorry for any confusion it might have caused. I hope this clarifies this a bit. Thanks!

Hi, if I can take this opportunity, I have a question: still for the sake of equality with the Steam version, are you going to add the achievements to the GOG version of Alwa's Awakening as well? It would be nice to be able to complete them in the first chapter and then move on to the next one, thank you!

It does. Thank you for clarifying.

PS: if you ask GOG, they'll give you a nice orange font, that identifies you immediately as a developer in the forum.
Hello!

Short answer: No, we won't add any achievements to GOG right now.

Long answer: Alwa's Awakening was developed mainly during 2015-2016 by one programmer and unfortunately he left the company for another job last year. We've hired a new programmer and it was a lot of work for him just setting up a proper release of Alwa's Awakening on GOG. It would certainly be possible for him to dig into the code of our first game and add achievements but it'd probably be A LOT of work and since we're just small indies it's just not possible for us right now. But Alwa's Awakening is 3,5 years old and we're still supporting it so we might able to add achievements later but unfortunatly not right now.

Thanks!
