Sweet games that were released while you were attending the Back to School Sale!

Boy, that was an intense last week: big Sale, new classmates, new teachers, new game releases. Oh, you didn't happen to miss any of these last ones, did you? Because that would be a shame - they are all great for blowing off some steam after a long evening of intense homework.

- Cossacks II is a great way to pretend you're still studying, thanks to its historically inspired European battles.

- ClusterTruck requires the exhilarating reflexes and quick thinking that you might not find in your homework assignments.

- Turmoil gives you a good opportunity to test your knowledge in applied economics as a rising oil tycoon.

- Reigns is the perfect bite-sized game for these small breaks that you take in-between homework and your favorite late-night show.

- The Metronomicon is a breezy and fine-tuned RPG experience with an addictive soundtrack that you'll keep humming during class.

- Wuppo is a lighthearted stress-reliever for these agonizing nights before a big test.

- Hybrid Wars lets you blast your enemies into scrap metal, pretending they are this spiteful teacher who yelled at you the other day.

- Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is an emotional journey for when your crush turns down your offer to study math together.

- The Last Leviathan brings your daydreaming fantasies to life, as long as they include building your own ship and surviving the terrors of the deep.

- Caravan plays like a bedtime story full of Oriental wonder and mystique but with more intrigue and fateful decisions.

- Masquerada: Songs and Shadows offers that dramatic flair that's missing from school book imagery, with an extra layer of tactical gameplay and captivating storytelling.

So which of these caught your eye? Are you going to suggest any of them to your best friends?

Trisstan23: it would be great if we actually 'knew´* when sale ends, so we can, you know, buy your games when sale is still on...
wanted settlers and lionheart and come here monday. and... well not gonna happen
During sales there's counter...
likely just as well my mrs controls the bank, if id recieved the email about the sale before today i might have had a wee look :-P
Winter is coming. Will wait , duh.
Purchased Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons during the sale and it has been very enjoyable to play. The story is simple enough, but the characters you meet are very well done and pleasant to interact with.
While not that easy to control two characters at the same time on a keyboard, it can be done.

Not sure how far I am through the story, but I am taking my time to enjoy it all.

Also, not sure if mini-games like the rabbits mean anything in the game itself, or will so up at the ending.

Very glad to get it on sale as it was well worth the cost.

iRevolt: Winter is coming.
Not if you live in a Mediterranean country... 28 degrees celsius in October!

fronzelneekburm: It's pretty much Tinder (swipe left for "yes", swipe right for "no" - or vice versa). Someone realised that this simplicity makes for an addicting app and tried to turn it into a game. You get randomized requests from your various subjects (the clergy, the common folk, the army and your treasury) and you accept/decline their offers. Accepting from one group will anger another group, so you'll have to juggle. If one group grows too weak or too strong, it's off with the royal head and you start over with the next ruler.

On the downside, the requests you get are fairly repetitive (you do get unique events every so often, to liven things up), the dungeon crawler and duelling minigames suck and there is zero customisation (I was a bit disappointed that you don't even have the option to name your kings).
Great info, thanks very much! At least it sounds ideal for pick-up-and-play sessions. Much appreciated!
Hey, let's not forget the 'Promos you might have missed during the sale'. :P
Have a few under my scope, but i will wait since I already bough so many games I haven't finished yet. Its a new self-made rule I came to, so I stop buying games I never play :<

NuffCatnip: How long did it take you to finish 'Reigns'?

fronzelneekburm: Gog Galaxy had logged a little over 3 hours. Some of that could be attributed to having left my laptop unattended while the game was running, so feel free to subtract half an hour or so.
Thanks, might be a fun, little time waster. :)
