So playing Mass Effect 1 with the textures fixed, I forgotten how increadibly top notch the graphics are.

Thats what interested me about this game other than its from Bioware. When I first laid eyes on the human characters I was blown away at how realistic they looked. It was the first game that showcased realistic faces and models in gaming (well of course its not alone since we had Crysis 1 and Uncharted 1 released in the same year)

And as in Xbox 360 this game certainly pushed boundries because early 360 games gave us models that looked like this. For example this:

Mass Effect to me defined that generation gaming (360/PS3 era and yeah I still have the PC in mind) it was the most "Next Gen" game I have ever seen.
I haven't bought or played Mass Effect, save for reaching the main menu of the second game's demo...

But I can safely say that I've never bought a game for the graphics alone, no matter how "revolutionary" they are.
No, I bought it because the manager of Gamestation knocked it down to a couple of quid because I'd had a bad run of luck with purchases I'd had to return for one reason or another. Knew absolutely nothing about it but read the back, liked the idea, considered it was cheaper than a pint and took it home.

So... you got Bad Rats for the gameplay.

Don't be silly...I bought it because I confused it with Lab Rat Simulator 2012.

I'm led to believe you could have just joined the que at Ware-Mart for the same experience.

the first one was cheap what i got was kotor lite with out star wars attached to it
all it made me want to do was play kotor again a much better game
No. I bought ME because I heard they were good RPGs. They aren't.
We bought Mass Effect because it promised to be a great, open, space opera RPG (whether it achieved it is a bit debatable).

We played Mass Effect because we didn't have Kerbal Space Program so we needed the mako for our scenic trips on the moon.
And here I thought we all got it for the alien sex :(
<- Has a pc that can barely handle Mass Effect on Low.

<- Get told he bought it for the graphics.

I will also admit that I am surprised at how tense the game's combat can be. It has a tactical element especially you can control where your party members go to.

Almost the same for me except I loved all 3 of the games.
I bought it because it had good reviews. I did not like it, I think I played it less than an hour.
I bought and played ME trilogy because it is space opera RPG. and I love both. and there is not enough of space operas out there in gaming world.

I dont think I was impressed by ME1 or ME2 graphics. But i did play ME1 2 years after release.
i was just thrilled with the massive effect it would have on me and it has nothing do with graphics
