I'm ashamed to admit I already own it. Bought it on release. Reviews of earlier Gothics had been somewhat mixed and so I was unreasonably optimistic despite the bad press. I recognize here that I'm at fault, but I still want minor unpleasant things to happen to anyone involved in it. Again, perhaps unfairly.

I bought it with the addon for a few bucks at a massive sale on Shinyloot last year and haven't even touched it yet, lol.
I wanted to finish Gothic 3 first but technical problems forced me to abort it over and over again. Now I have a more stable graphics driver and haven't yet found my way back into it.

Klumpen0815: Is anybody here more interested in [url=http://www.gog.com/game/surgeon_simulator_2013]Simulator than in Goat Simulator?

Looking at the wishlist, I don't think so.

I guess the wishes of the community are not the crucial factor here.
And invites heapload of nonsensical simulator here? No thanks.

The only simulator that i dont mind having here is MFS.

No damn it! Its MS Flight Sim.
*throws a bone, hope he goes away*

Klumpen0815: Dafuq? Never heard of it, but it seems to be as much "Sacred 3" as "Arcania" is "Gothic 4"...
When has "dumbing down franchises" become so blatant?
avatar
Matewis: If I didn't know any better then I would've thought that it was some sort of prolonged april fools joke :P Seriously though, I can't think of a worse franchise-betrayal example than sacred 3.
I see your franchise betrayal that is Sacred 3 and raise you an Ultima IX. Which, by the way, is for some reason already on GOG. What's a paladin?

wariodude128: So I was wondering what games you don't want to make it onto Good Old Games dot com.
American McGee's Grimm.

Oh, wait. You said "games"...

TheTome56: I don't think any games should be refused from GoG personally. I think customers should decide what they want to buy and GoG should facilitate that.
I don't think that would be a good idea. Just look at Steam, Desura or Itch.io where you have to wade through tons of shovelware, broken games or unfinished alpha/early access version just to find a decent game.

I don't always agree with GOG's decisions, but all in all I think it is a good idea to not allow every game here. We have some stinkers here as well, but the average quality is much higher than in most other digital stores.

phaolo: All the junk on Steam: crappy mobile ports, microtransaction ridden titles, horrible amateurish clones, etc..
This.

Along with anything Early-Access. Even if it looks promising, I'd rather wait for the finished product than ending up with a half-working, unfinished, bug-ridden mess which might never get fixed/finished... Wait, almost sounds like certain AAA-Games on release date.

To be fair, no one is calling for a Greenlight or Early Access system on GoG. Those systems are a complete mess due to Valve's negligence on moderating them and I personally wouldn't like to see some analogue of them here.

But I also think people overstate how difficult it is to find good games. There's more than enough information floating around that anyone can make an informed decision with a simple Google search. Bad games get forgotten, but good games make themselves known

Like the Macho Man Randy Savage once said "Unjustifiably in a situation I'd rather not be in, but the cream will rise to the top, OH YEAH!"

Klumpen0815: When has "dumbing down franchises" become so blatant?
Oh there's some pretty bad examples...

To be honest i'd be even more depressed for Sacred IF it was the original studio who had made it, but in reality the game was likely wrenched from the dev's hands as part of the publishing contract... At least, that's the impression i get after watching Extra Credits when they started digging into it...

Hmmm. That's a tough call. Ultima 8&9 were crapped out due to EA's iron fist forcing the game to come out way too soon and under developed sabotaging it's efforts by taking the team away to work on another project. Although I'd probably play Sacred 3 over Ultima 9.

whatever what delays releasing xcom: enemy unknown and xcom: terror from the deep

Games without customizable controls. I've been burned a couple times by games like that (purchased on GOG no less).

That option is like breathing. It should be a given.
I don't want Hatred here. It literally disgusts me.

We already have proto-Hatred though. The games are quite similar in tone & target audience.
