Snidely_Whiplash: So i just bought a game and i don't really like it, it doesn't have any issues or bugs but i'm wondering if i can get a refund for it. The page about the refund policy didn't say any thing about it and i was just wondering whats the deal with that.
gog's refund policy is ---
30 days post download--- 30 days post purchase date if it's been downloaded if you've got technical problems, after support tries to resolve them for you.
---7 days no download--- 30 days from purchase date if not downloaded no questions asked.
Steam's refund policy is actually better on some fronts. as far as I know you can't refund it. if this is the first game you're requesting, and assuming it's not expensive, they might do it for you anyway as a courtesy but probably just the once. try anyway, but there's nothing in the text that says they'll do it.
edit: one more thing. gog doesn't refund individual games, only entire orders. so say if a game you buy doesn't work, and you checked that one out with a bunch of others you want to keep, you must return them all.
double edit: though that may no longer be relevant with gog's new site features and wallet system now. I am speaking from pre-Galaxy pre-storecredit experience.
