Not in for the $5.99 game.

Nominations for best giveaway of 2014:

100 by real.geizterfahr
100 days, 100 games, 100 winners. Just one epic giveaway with tons of great gog games.

Vault Boy Photoshop Contest by BillyMaysFan59
I like giveaways that are based more on creativity rather than random choice. The people who entered into this giveaway had some really nice pip boy pictures.

Tomb Raider giveaway by misteryo
Every entry in this giveaway whether in or not in had to add to the text adventure that misteryo started in his first post. Not many people joined this one but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
What a wonderful idea for a giveaway. I won't be in for myself, but I will have a think about some wonderful people to nominate. I'm not sure I can pick just three, there are so many wonderful giveaways here, maybe I will put all my favourite ones into a hat and draw three at random. I will update my post once I have decided on my three giveaways.

I went through and listed some of the more memorable giveaways I took part in since I started participating on the forum. It was quite a big list, there really are so many wonderful giveaways hosted by some truly awesome people. Although, I think I had one of the best methods for picking the winners, who else would have thought of sailing paper boats ;-). In the end I decided to just list them all and pick three at random, I just couldn't choose three (I wrote them all down and picked the name from my trust raffle box). So if you are not mentioned below, I'm really sorry, but you were still probably on my original list of awesome giveaways :-).

Awalterj: He always hosts very insightful giveaways, with wonderful and often emotional topics. There have been several of his giveaways that I have taken part in and really enjoyed, but I will list the Samaritan Paradox Giveaway as my chosen one. As genkicolleen said, this was such a sad, and yet also happy giveaway, with a very simple set of questions that resulted in some very touching answers.

HypersomniacLive: His Tribute To My Gifters – A small Paying It Forward Giveaway was just wonderful. Not just for the prizes (thought they were very nice), but for the topics and discussions the thread created. Hyper gave away a series of games, each with its own topic of discussion, all of which lead to some wonderful conversations. One topic developed into a most wonderful, insightful, and serious discussion. Despite people not agreeing and having very different opinions, it was discussed in such a pleasant and civilised manner.

And last but not least, trentonlf. I will pick his After Christmas giveaway for Secret Santas and Elves Giveaway, although there as just so many interesting and generous giveaways he hosts. He is such a kind and generous person and he never lets his gifting addiction get in the way of things ;-). His After Christmas Giveaway is such a nice gesture to all those who took part in the Secret Santa event. The fact that so many people have added extra prizes, just shows how generous the lovely people on the forum are.

I was going to do a list of honourable mentions, but I was worried I would accidentally forget someone. So instead I will just say a big thank you to all of those incredible people who host the many wonderful giveaways we have on the forum. And a special thank you to ZFR for hosting this thoughtful giveaway.

I'm in.

1) real.geizterfahr's 100 - 100 games; one a day for 100 days and topping it off with the Arma series. It was truly momentous.

2) PaterAlf's The Christmas avatar giveaway strikes again - Nothing like spreading holiday cheer as well as an impressive list of games.

3) ddickinson's The Great Nations Giveaway #1 - Polish Edition. - More of a compilation entry as we have had the Great Nations series as well as a few others like the battle of the sexes.

Honorable mention to Trentonlf, Foxworks, Sachys and Momo for administrating some fine giveaways through the year as mentioned in other posts. Great giveaways all and bringing the community together.
In addition to my nominations above, here are some honorary mentions:

But, should your giveaways win, you must take your prize or we'll have to hunt you down and force you to take a game!

Ahhh thanks, I thought nobody (but me) would mention this! This is clearly the best giveaway ever! (imho)
I'm in, and I nominate Coelocanth's year end blowout.

Admittedly, my activity on here this year was mostly limited to the regional pricing mess and related threads, didn't really check others unless I happened to glance at the most recently active and some title really caught my eye, so don't know much about the ones that did take place this year otherwise. But did see this one, which is active now, and it features both great value in the games offered and interesting requirements for entering, so when I saw this thread, had to nominate it.
Not in but thank you for this awesome GA and a bigger thank you for this topic and being able to highlight others for their generosity and for their awesome GAs!!!

All of the nominations are wonderful and I agree with all of them.

I would like to nominate trentonlf for his DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN GIVEAWAY WITH A TWIST - http://www.gog.com/forum/general/divinity_original_sin_giveaway_with_a_twist/post1

This was a extremely generous GA with a wonderful nomination system to win. You could not enter for yourself but for someone who had helped you or is an asset to the forums. I really like this type of GA. To be able to enter for others and making someone else happy is what makes me happy.

Ragnarblackmane -has has some nice and generous GAs as well - so I would

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/four_days_in_paris_giveaway/page1

This was one of my favorite that he had as Paris has always been my if I win the lottery location to visit. I learned some interesting facts from this GA.

I'm in! I'll nominate RagnarBlackmane's Crusader Kings II giveaway: Quam ego vadens ad moriendum?. It was one of the most unique giveaways I've seen, and although I didn't participate in it, it was entertaining as heck to read!

Thank you for this very generous giveaway, too! I love the concept of recognizing others for their generosity in the forums.

Hmm a giveaway is a giveaway, I'm sure people appreciate the games they got for Free. how can a person who gave 100's of games away be any better than a person who gave one game away, or used a witty system to give games away like demanding rep, how long a person has been a GOG member. me I give away a game/s to anyone who wants it., I won't turn it into a contest.

I'm sure you have good intentions OP

I like this forum, but I'm not into one-upmanship

real.geizterfahr: Not in for the 5.99 game, but I wanted to nominate Coelocanth for his "The Hobbit's Birthday" giveaway series. Forum search says he did 40 of them in two months - I think that's worth a nomination ;)
Thank you!! I was looking for these and couldn't find them.

This is the set of giveaways I want to nominate also. Coelocanth is always thoughtful and helpful to others, and this series of giveaways was very unique and fun :)

You've completely misunderstood the point of the giveaway.
