high rated
So it has happened, 1001 days have passed since I first put foot, I mean my email address, into GOG. My first game here was Fallout which was given away freely and was my reason for joining. Until that moment I've never owned a game legally. It took me almost a year to buy something here, and then The Witcher came up for $2 and I couldn't resist. I remembered starting it a couple of years back, but I've never finished it before getting it here.
1001 days later I'm still here, buying games and more importantly making friends. Because what I found here besides games is a great community. Some people whom I loved exchanging thoughts with have left us (hopefully only temporarily), while new others have joined.
But I'm already babbling too much, so I should get to the point - please read carefully:
We have two prizes:
1. $10 to spend on GOG games
2. Theme Hospital and Dungeon Keeper (courtesy of Coelocanth)
Requirements:
For the second prize (Theme Hospital + Dungeon Keeper), you have to tell me which game has brought you on GOG and if it's different then which was your first purchase here and why. No other requirements to join for this one.
The first prize is a bit more tricky:
- you should be on GOG since last year and have a positive rep (yes rep is dead, but it's pretty easy to maintain a positive rep, even LesterKnight has managed it, who at some point was at over (or is it under) -100.
- you should continue my short story. I'll name a judge a bit later.
I'm planning to end this and announce the winner before the end of the weekend sale.
You can enter for both prizes if you want by meeting the requirements. Also put I'm in at the beginning of your post if you're in, otherwise I fling 1001 craps.
Oh and a Happy New Year to all!
As to the story:
There was a stinging pain in his side. People and stalls were rushing by in a blur. It was busy that day as people were preparing for the festivities and dodging them made running even harder. The dry desert air was stinging his lungs and sweat was running in streams from his forehead. Just a few more steps and the physicians house came into view. It was a grandiose house, but he didn't had time to admire it and almost bashed down the door as he lunged at it. As he stood panting for a couple of seconds the door begun to open.
- Why in the name of all that's holy are you trying to break the door?
A manservant stood there, his wrinkles betraying his age. When he was young he probably was a handsome man, but now he looked like a ghoul who just came out of a grave.
- My wife needs master Rabban's help. Please I beg you, she will die if he doesn't comes immediately.
- Master Rabban is a very busy man. And his services don't come cheap.
- I don't have much, but I would give anything, please I beg you.
- Wait here, I'll call the master.
The door smashed, it seemed like an eternity until the door opened again. A tall wiry man stood in the door, his white tunic shone in the bright sun. If he didn't knew better, he'd believe him a young man in his mid twenties. But master Rabban was old, some say very old.
- Master Rabban, you have to come quickly, my wife... She is very ill, and without help she won't make it.
- Anything you said?
- Yes, please master, I love her more than my life. Please come...
