So it has happened, 1001 days have passed since I first put foot, I mean my email address, into GOG. My first game here was Fallout which was given away freely and was my reason for joining. Until that moment I've never owned a game legally. It took me almost a year to buy something here, and then The Witcher came up for $2 and I couldn't resist. I remembered starting it a couple of years back, but I've never finished it before getting it here.
1001 days later I'm still here, buying games and more importantly making friends. Because what I found here besides games is a great community. Some people whom I loved exchanging thoughts with have left us (hopefully only temporarily), while new others have joined.
But I'm already babbling too much, so I should get to the point - please read carefully:

We have two prizes:
1. $10 to spend on GOG games
2. Theme Hospital and Dungeon Keeper (courtesy of Coelocanth)

Requirements:
For the second prize (Theme Hospital + Dungeon Keeper), you have to tell me which game has brought you on GOG and if it's different then which was your first purchase here and why. No other requirements to join for this one.

The first prize is a bit more tricky:
- you should be on GOG since last year and have a positive rep (yes rep is dead, but it's pretty easy to maintain a positive rep, even LesterKnight has managed it, who at some point was at over (or is it under) -100.
- you should continue my short story. I'll name a judge a bit later.

I'm planning to end this and announce the winner before the end of the weekend sale.
You can enter for both prizes if you want by meeting the requirements. Also put I'm in at the beginning of your post if you're in, otherwise I fling 1001 craps.
Oh and a Happy New Year to all!

As to the story:

There was a stinging pain in his side. People and stalls were rushing by in a blur. It was busy that day as people were preparing for the festivities and dodging them made running even harder. The dry desert air was stinging his lungs and sweat was running in streams from his forehead. Just a few more steps and the physicians house came into view. It was a grandiose house, but he didn't had time to admire it and almost bashed down the door as he lunged at it. As he stood panting for a couple of seconds the door begun to open.
- Why in the name of all that's holy are you trying to break the door?
A manservant stood there, his wrinkles betraying his age. When he was young he probably was a handsome man, but now he looked like a ghoul who just came out of a grave.
- My wife needs master Rabban's help. Please I beg you, she will die if he doesn't comes immediately.
- Master Rabban is a very busy man. And his services don't come cheap.
- I don't have much, but I would give anything, please I beg you.
- Wait here, I'll call the master.
The door smashed, it seemed like an eternity until the door opened again. A tall wiry man stood in the door, his white tunic shone in the bright sun. If he didn't knew better, he'd believe him a young man in his mid twenties. But master Rabban was old, some say very old.
- Master Rabban, you have to come quickly, my wife... She is very ill, and without help she won't make it.
- Anything you said?
- Yes, please master, I love her more than my life. Please come...

i came here because gog was giving away broken sword in 2010

I'm in for prize #1.

-------
"Then I have a proposal for you. I will help your wife now, but in exchange you will be at my beck and call for as long as your wife shall live. My butler is not getting any younger and from time to time I need errands run which would be better served by a younger man."
"I really need your help, but I do have a job. Can you work around it?"
"I already have an arrangement with both the senior partners at your firm, Sachys and Foxworks. There should be no problems."
"Then I will do anything you ask. Just hurry. I don't know what I'd do without my wife"

And for the next 20 years, the man ran errands for Master Rabban. When the manservant passed, the man took his place. And he did not regret it as he felt blessed to get 20 more years with the love of his life.
I am in for the first prize. Thank you very much for the giveaway and an interesting story time.
...
- I will go with you but shall name my price later. My trustworthy servant here is a witness on your promise to give anything. Do not break it.
- Yes, master. But please, we must hurry! I travelled through the desert on my own feet and the road is long...
- Dekel, ready the camels! I will need my equipment and water.
Surprisingly, it did not take long until two camels were standing in front of the house. Both men went back into the stinging desert, where somewhere there was a woman, fighting to survive whatever was tormenting her.
They arrived at the place, a long way from physicians home. There was a big rock, covered with sand. But beneath it, in a large enaugh gap, was lying a sick women. She could barely breath and had a fever. Sweat was dripping from her forehead. Not far from the woman was lying a dead scorpion. Woman was stung and the poison now was slowly taking her life away.
A man, the husband, gave his wife some water. Physician applied medicine what little he had for this problem.
- We need to take her home. And fast.
Man took his wife in his hands and held her strong. The trip back seemed to last an eternity as every passing second ment a moment of life disappearing. When at home, physician knew what to do. He applied cold compresses, gave the woman right medicine and left her to rest.
- She will live, the poison itself is not lethal. But the symptoms and the heat could have killed her. You got to me in time.
The man was so happy that he fell on his knees and kissed the master's arm a few times, with tears of joy in his eyes.
- How can I ever repay you for saving the life of my love?
- You have shown to be responsible and kind in your heart. You are able to work hard. For the time of half year I want you to tend to my animals. Care for them, feed them, wash them. Can you do it?
- Yes! Yes, I can. What... What about my wife?
- I saved her life. I will care for her until she fully recovers. After that, I would like her to be my apprentice. She will help me to save lives of the others.
In the months to come husband and wife learned to take care of others, to help people heal. In the end, the price Rabban asked became a very valuable gift.

Not in but thank you for this creative giveaway :) +1
I'm in for the first prize-I love imagining short stories! :D
However, there are some elements in the story blotunga started that make me think that the story might not have a very happy continuation and I'll continue on that assumption:

-So you love her so much, more than your life as a matter of fact, huh?... Master Rabban said, stroking his chin.
-Yes! Yes!, the man said. Hurry up please or she won't make it!
-Allright then, Rabban said. Take me to her then already and once she's saved we'll talk about what you'll give in exchange.
-This way! Said the man and ran hurriedly down the street. Master Rabban tried to keep up with the man, as he ran across the small dirty roads, bypassing market stalls and passing people-and bumping on some from his hurry. Rabban, being old, had a hard time keeping up with such a pace but they finally arrived. The young man entered a small hut built with hay and clay-in there lied a woman that looked pale as if she was going to die the next moment. The moment she saw the young man she raised her head a bit and whispered:
-Ali, why did you bring Master Rabban here? There are so many other doctors, that are cheaper too...
-He was the only one willing to work during the Ramadan, Leila-and please don't waste your breath, the doctor is here to save you. Master please save her now!, he said eagerly talking to the doctor.
Master Rabban took calmly out of his medical bag a small phial with a greenish liquid. He gave it to the woman and said to her: -Drink this and then stay on the bed and rest for a while.
The woman drank it, albeit with a little hesitation. Very shortly afterwards, something short of a miracle happened: The color returned to her cheeks and she announced:-I feel well now. May I get up Master Rabban?
-A miracle! Ali said. A miracle! Thank Allah! and he rushed to kiss his wife.
Master Rabban remained calm and said: -You can sit on the bed for now and you can stand up in an hour, just to be certain everything's allright. Then he went to Ali and whispered to his ear: -Come outside son, we'll talk about the "payment" now. Leila heard this and asked:-What's going on, Master? to which Rabban replied -Nothing-I just need to tell something to your husband.
After both Ali and Master Rabban went out, Ali asked: -What do you want in exchange,Master, for saving my wife? -Well..., Rabban said, hope I'm not asking for too much but I'd like you to give me your life energy. -My life energy?, Ali interrupted, panicked. What do you mean? -Well, I'm working on a medicine that will help extend people's lives and need some life energy, that is an amount of energy that is the one keeping life inside the body, and since you told me you'd give anything... -Master! I can't do that! Ali cried. -And what will you pay then? the doctor sain in a harsher tone. You have nothing else that is of worth, except your life and that of your wife's, but I just saved her and it'd be a total waste to take her life again.
Suddenly, Leila rushed out of the hut and said:-No! Don't take my husband's life! If you want a life take mine! Ali shouldn't die because of me-I'll feel the guilt for the rest of my life! -Leila what are you doing? Don't you see that I'll feel the exact same thing if you die? Ali then took a deep breath, turned to Master Rabban and said: -I'm ready. Take my life for the sake of my wife, and bared his chest for Rabban. Rabban took out a knife that seemed to include a phial in its handle and prepared to plunge it into the man's chest when suddenly:
-STOP DEMON! they heard a cry from behind. Everyone turned to see a middle-aged man dressed in rags and with a beard reaching his knees. -I know you demon Rapushanim!, the man cried again. I've been searching you for years to put an end to your evil scheming. And now I'll find you at last. This will be the last time you live, for now I found a way to exterminate you for good!
Rabban turned towards the man and blinked. His formerly blue eyes were replaced by red fiery eyes. He spoke in a serpent-like voice: -I meet you again it seems, Hunter Elijah. You think of yourself as the savior of the people-you won't last for long however! And he threw a green bolt towards the Hunter. The Hunter avoided it and threw a yellow projectile to the demon. They both were soon fighting each other and the projectiles flew around the air, some of them hitting and partly demolishing the hut. Ali and Leila stared astonished and all the while people from the street started gathering around to see the action, not minding the projectiles flying around. Leila leaned on Ali and whispered to his ear: -Let's get out of here quickly and go to a safer place. Ali nodded and they ran away from the place as fast as they could. After they ran some distance they stopped exhausted. Ali exclaimed: -Who would have thought? Master Rabban was a demon after all? And then what did he want my life for? To extend his life obviously, he answered his own question. I should have realised it-after all, how did he manage to look young while being so old? I attributed it to him being a medic but... -STOP THERE! a man suddenly cried. The couple turned around and saw a man that looked like a ghoul who just came out of a grave. -You're Rabban's servant! Ali exclaimed. What do you want? The servant said -You thought you had escaped from my master! Only you hadn't, for my master is very powerful and I'll be his agent in taking both your lives! And with that, he transformed into a giant snake and prepared to attack Ali. As the snake lunged to attack the shocked Ali, a projectile hit the snake in the neck and it fell down dead, dissolving into a pool of black acid. The couple turned around and saw Elijah-he smiled and said: -Phew! Killed this one too! At last my life's work is over! -Ali and Leila knelt relieved before him and Ali said excitedly: -Thank you so much Hunter! How can I ever repay you? -You needn't repay me. I did what I did for the greater good. This demon, Rapushanim, took the lives of many innocent people to extend his own and he established himself in your town for want of a more sedentary life-he was becoming old you see... As for what you'll do from now on (Leila whispered then: How did he know I thought that?), leave this town and with God's help and will the rest of your life will be a pleasant and uneventful one. The couple said thank you, thank you while kneeling to the ground. But when they raised their heads, Elijah was gone. They looked around bewildered and then Ali exclaimed: -A real miracle that one was! We were saved! And he hugged and kissed Leila. Leila kissed him back smiled and said: -Let's go. And they headed towards the street and the vast horizon revealing the sea, vanishing in the afternoon mist...

I couldn't resist writing a happy ending after all! Oh well... :-)
Anyways, thanks a lot for hosting this giveaway blotunga and +1! :-)

I've got to bump it, bump it...
Congrats!

Not in, but thanks.
Not in, but my first purchase on here was Master of Magic because I loved the game when I was younger. Then there was Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity, which I'd never heard of before I bought them, and I'm glad I did.
Holding this spot, story coming
I'm too drunk to read all that...
