My first purchase was purely by an accident. Since I didn't really pay attention, I paid for Game of Thrones: Telltale from G2A and i found out it was a gog galaxy key, but then I thought it was a chance to test the "competitor to steam".

After playing the episode through I waited for the fifth one. When it finally came out, it says "Not connected". And I have been searching the whole web for this problem. Every time I press connect now, it just takes me to some code thing. I even tried to insert the same code but nope it was used by already. (The episode 5 still said "coming soon").

So I tried to reinstall, only to find out game of thrones is GONE from my library. I don't even know how to prove it else than to show you I bought it from G2A. Why would it just suddenly disappear from my library for no reason at all? I know it is alpha and all, but this is just not a good start for me to try a "competitor" to steam because this would not happen at all when playing on steam.

I'll attach the proof I have that I even own the game.
I hid the key and the order incase someone can misuse it for something idk.

Im on the same boat too
Have you tried contacting support directly - http://www.gog.com/support - as I don't think they check out the forums so they may not see this thread. Hopefully, then they'll sort it out quickly for you both.
My copy of the game also gone...

I have, no answer yet though.

I sadly had to go to piratebay and download episode 5 from there to actually play. It's cheaper and you get less problems using cracked games because of this...
Welp, I am out of luck. I got this message from support:

Hello,

I am very sorry for not being able to get back to you sooner.

I have checked this code, and it looks like it was canceled, because it was purchased fraudulently, with a stolen card. In such situations, our policy is to cancel the code, and give the money back to the owner of the stolen card.
Also, please keep in mind that reselling codes purchased on GOG is forbidden according to our User Agreement (3.3).
I would strongly advise that you contact the third-party reseller, whom you most likely bought this code from, and ask for your money back.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and appreciate your understanding.

This explain everything . You bought your code via an unreliable marketplace from a scammer . You should contact with G2A and ask for a refund from them .

Dovafox: I got this message from support:
What did you use to pay? If Paypal, then simply ask for chargeback, they do it quickly and without any hassle. If a credit/debit card, then contact your bank, they should do a chargeback too.

GOG, how difficult is it to set up an automated e-mail when this kind of thing happens? You really should inform a user when you pull a game from his library and not leave him guessing.

Yeah, don't blame GOG for this. You bought a key from some random dude who probably purchased gift keys (which aren't allowed to be resold!) with a stolen credit card. The card owner noticed the transfer, told his bank, the bank locked the card and got back the money. On Steam you'll get butt raped for something like this, GOG just removes the game from your account.

Fun fact: You don't need to "crack" games from GOG. They're DRM free. Download the installer and it's yours. You can install it whenever you want, wherever you want. No activation, no client required. Just like on any pirate site. Granted, that's pretty useless for episodic games that aren't complete yet.

Anyways... You better stick to your bay-thingie. Buying keys that are not meant for resale and that were purchased with stolen card info is the same as getting the game from some torrent site. Just with the difference that you don't have to pay anything for it on a torrent ;)

Honestly, I didn't really know that gog would give two shits about illegal reselling. The key was really bought by mistake on to gog, but I felt it was a chance to test it. I got the refund, but as you said, I won't be touching this again. You sounded pretty smug when you commented that, so I pretty much know that you are one of those persons who can't be convinced about something they fell in love with.

Good support atleast, that is what I can say.

Question though, how do they trace the key to find out it's been reselled? And how do you even get a "key" from GoG?

To the others: I was using paysafecard, and yeah they should've have had an automated message for this. I used around 4 days to find out what was wrong with the connect now thingy. I only found out when I reinstalled it, which certainly pissed me off.

Well, I got refunded. I still have the game installed from gog, I managed to add episode 5 into it from piratebay and worked fine. I really want to see if gog can learn from their mistake (not talking about the stolen key etc. thingy, talking about that they should tell us if the game is removed incase of somebody else would run into this trouble).

Case closed.

My "love" to GOG (It's a fucking store! I buy things here, that's it.) died a long time ago, when they turned from a place where they listened to their customers, into a place where they change the whole site to be compatible with an optional "BETA" client (it's far from being BETA), or do other stuff that no one really asked for.

The reason for my "smug" reply is that I just find it funny that people buy keys from key reseller sites at half the price (or less) and think this is somehow legit. Seriously... If something costs 10 Bucks in store A and store B tells you that they make it possible for you to pick it up for 5 Bucks in store A... uhm... Hello?! Common sense?! Something doesn't become legit just because you have to pay siomething for it. You're buying "stolen goods" there. Did you buy your TV, PC, smartphone, etc. on the black market too? No? Then why do you think this is okay for games? Downloading them from some torrent would be the same, just that you a) don't pay anything for it and b) don't support any criminals with your money.

They don't trace anything. Read the support reply you've posted: "I have checked this code, and it looks like it was canceled, because it was purchased fraudulently, with a stolen card." The bank of the card owner just recharged the money. That's something that GOG will notice. And of course they'll invalidate the key(s) bought with this stolen card info.

Put a game in your cart, go to chekout, tick the "GIFT THIS ORDER" checkbox, put in the e-mail of the person you want to gift this game to and pay. A 20-digit gift key will be sent to the e-mail you typed in. If you put your own e-mail, you'll recieve the key and can give it to anyone you want.

That's one of the reasons why my "love" for GOG died. The Galaxy client is feature incomplete BETA software (some really basic things are missing), yet they messed up the whole site to be a web-version of Galaxy...
