How do you think the story would have ended?
From the events at the end, it looks like both Terrans and the Vasudans would have certainly been annihilated very quickly. It's unclear how much of space the Shivans occupy, but considering how little time it takes to cross galaxies with hyperjump technology, and that their civilization is billions of years older than ours, it's likely they occupied most of space. With a seemingly infinite number of ships with unlimited resources and tremendously more advanced technology there doesn't seem like there was a way to prevent annihilation.
Even the destruction of the node would not make a difference, as the Shivan ships were able to jump without nodes.
Unless Admiral Bosch was somehow able to achieve a truce or alliance with them, it seemed the end of earth.
I wish there were a sequel to complete the story. How do you guys think it would have ended?
