pnkwag: I had this issue on my old 2006 MacBook, but then I downloaded it onto my 2012 iMac and it ran smoothly.

Of course it shouldn't take 8 GB RAM and a 3,4 GHz processor to run this game, so... I don't know what to say.

However I have run into some other issues. I don't think its 100% compatible with the latest OS for Mac. I get a weird error message whenever I play it. It doesn't effect gameplay as far as I can tell (I only ever notice the error message when I quit).

Also there has been a weird error message I've encountered recently in Modoch when I use dynamite on the chicken coop. The weird thing is it looks like a PC error message, like the actual window that pops up is on a PC.

So yeah, that's been my experience so far.
Please write to our Support department about any and all issues with Fallout 2 on Mac. The more info we get from you guys (hardware etc.) the better the chances that we can find the cause of the problem and fix it. Thanks :D.

Screenshots help as well so please take them if possible whenever something weird pops up...well, weirder than one of those Radscorpions who know how to play chess :D.

Game crashed on me again (luckily immediately after I saved). Same PC style error messages popped up.

Wouldn't let me take a screen shot as everything froze up, so I took pictures with my phone.

If you can't make it out, the first one says:

"Application Error: C:\Program Files\\Fallout 2\fallou...

The intructrion at 004af46a referenced memory at 01dd8074
The memory could not be read from

Click OK to terminate the application"

The second one reads:

"Program Error

The program has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check for tips about running this application.

If this problem is not present under Windows and has not been reported yet, you can report it at "

I never did check out Wine like elus89 suggested, so I probably will not. I'll post updates if anything gets worked out.

The referenced memory error in Fallout for Windows and Wine crashes are both fairly common. What's too specific to be able to do anything on the forums?
Going through Support helps us to fix the any issues on our side faster and more effectively.
