SoanoS: Would love to see all those games here. Even though they weren't all that amazing. But they were fun. :)
Even if Beth were GOG-friendly, licensing issues would make it unlikely, alas.
I just hope that they dont delete this game from the shop , he earn much more money if they dont delete becuase they are big bunch pepole who prefer to buy the old game on the gog (like me). But at this moment , let download and wait until 30th.

At the time, I thought they were amazing for the level design and atmosphere alone. Back in those days (until today coming to think of it), a lot of FPS games were linear corridor shoot outs, T:FS and SkyNET areas were open and could enter buildings so there was exploring to do, something which was rare back then. Listening to Machine Debaser by Fear Factory while playing one of the jeep levels is also a blast. I swear they made that track just for these games.

Even today, one thing I really liked about the games were they didn't hold you by the hand. In the mission briefings, you were told your objective and only a general direction of where your objective was and you had to find it (enemy base in the north, power generators to the east etc). In modern games, you now have a radar in the top left corner of the screen with an arrow pointing to your objective. In addition to insulting your intelligence, i found it also breaks immersion. Considering that levels are usually linear as hell in modern shooters only adds to insult. Thank you devs for telling me I'm too dumb to find my way out through a straight corridor.

Yeah, the weapons were standard fare, controls were wonky (especially with jumping and navigating certain slopes), Xngine was buggy, enemy AI was meh but damn, the games rocked regardless ;)

Licensing issues for Terminator:Future Shock and SkyNET were a problem 14-15 odd years ago when I was still in high school looking for copies. I contacted Bethesda about it back then and I got a reply saying that they no longer had the license to sell the old Terminator games. Fortunately, I got really lucky and found copies on ebay and I'm never letting em go ;)

Well, you know what I meant. They were fantastic for their era, but on the todays standards they have aged and may not look too amazing. But the playability is still there for the brave who dare to look beyond the aged looks.
Do we know if this will only affect the Fallout titles, or the entire Interplay catalog? At least the Fallout games are relatively easy to come by, they've gotten retail reissues several times over the past decade and can still easily be found in stores. I would be really sad if there was no place to get the Descent or M.A.X. games anymore though, as the Descent series hasn't been reissued since the early 00's, and M.A.X. to my knowledge has never been reissued.

This shouldn't happen unless Bethsoft also bought the rights for Descent and MAX which to my knowledge, hasn't happened.

hmmm... this topic makes me also nervous. Would really like to have a blue response here, how GOG will act on first January....
If they could even say anything, shaddim, they wouldn't be able to until the 31st at the very earliest.

Lou: Wouldn't it be nice if as one last stick it to Bethesda - Interplay gave all three away for free during the month of December on GOG ;-)
You win the internet sir.

Anything anyone says on these forums COMES TRUE D:

Rusty_Gunn: Whether the Fallout series can stay active in the GOG store or must be stripped from the catalog, I took the precaution & bought the lot yesterday morning & is in the process of downloading it all now.
I'll tell you what's gonna happen. The games are gonna be removed by Interplay and either the rights will transfer to Bethesda and be rereleased or are never gonna show up again. So giving them away for free was very smart of GOG.
Maybe.

https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/202427990993412096 - not a particularly enthusiastic response, certainly, but more than had been expected, certainly. Of course, that was over 12 months ago and a lot can change between then.

Sir, as of now, you are a legend. Any insight on lotto numbers?
I read the first article that you posted. It concerns estimation on the budget for a Fallout MMO. I'm not sure what your point was?

Edit:
Nevermind, I see you were reenforcing the claim that Interplay was losing the IP. I thought you were talking to the idea that Bethesda would remove the game from GOG.
