It would be kind of salvation for the child to play Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics instead of Fallout 3:-)
Being stupid when buying things shall be punished anyway, so what.
The whole thing is that Interplay didn't abide by the contract that they had signed when giving up(selling) the Fallout license and what not... But I agree with the stupid thing.

Interplay won :)
Why was Bethesda suing interplay anyways? I thought they had a deal or something...

tb87670: After Morrowind I began hating Bethesda. I'm happy they lost out, Bethesda is going the way of Valve and ditching values for money as soon as they find an opportunity to double their money. Why are good game companies going bad left and right? Blizzard was first to fall with WoW, then Valve with L4D2, Bethesda, well, they have been slipping slowly downhill in the past 5 years or so now.
I have a theory of game-dev critical mass. As soon as a game company gets enough popularity and money and get to a certain size, X, they begin pumping out EA-Style sequels and spin-offs for pure profit over art form because when you get a taste for money it's like a fox getting a taste of eggs, they crave it the rest of their lives.
When a company reaches X and produced game sequel Y (Y=1 is first game, new series, 2 second game, 3 3rd game and so on) then we get the equation X*Y=Z Dollars. Quality is not in the equation friends, just money and sequels and money-grabs.
Ah. So activision would be a sterling example then?

Officially it's due to Interplay "misliedingly" selling first three fallout games as 'Fallout Trilogyä (pack that predates deal between the two btw) without them consulting Bethesda first on grounds that all new marketing material should be Beth approved (Interplay avoided this clause by reusing old material). Also according to Bethesda Interplay has not fullfilled the conditions set for development of Fallout Based MMO (secured funding and starting full development by first quarter last year).
Unofficially, Bethesda wants people to stop comparing FO3 to earlier games, even better if people would forget they even existed. It has also been speculated that Bethesda actually wants the Fallout MMO license back in order to develop their own Fallout MMO (they may even have started development as they have couple MMO's in development, one speculated being Elder Scrolls based.). They can't do that while Interplay licence agreement is in place.
