retsushi: The game is on sale. Loved it back in the day, might buy it.
But just so I understand, the whole expension is released as a MOD to the game? Or do I need to buy somewhere the expension, and the mod is to make it compatible with GOG/Steam?
It is a MOD. So buy the games on GOG, then install them then follow the guide in my original post to mod your GOG installation of the games to add the expansions. But just so I understand, the whole expension is released as a MOD to the game? Or do I need to buy somewhere the expension, and the mod is to make it compatible with GOG/Steam?
Edit:
Fleasfan: Hi, I've got a dumb question: If I already started the DS1 vanilla GOG version campaign and install the mod now... will I be able to use old save games? I don't want to go through the 2 hour intro again :-D
I'm not too sure. You can try to back up the installation folder (copy DS1 to another folder) your saved games will be in Documents folder and in a folder called Dungeon Siege (if on Windows) so back them both up then try installing the expansion then loading a game. If it works great, if not then just quit the game delete both folders then move the copies back. If you could let us know if it does/doesn't work then that would be great.
