retsushi: The game is on sale. Loved it back in the day, might buy it.

But just so I understand, the whole expension is released as a MOD to the game? Or do I need to buy somewhere the expension, and the mod is to make it compatible with GOG/Steam?
It is a MOD. So buy the games on GOG, then install them then follow the guide in my original post to mod your GOG installation of the games to add the expansions.

Edit:

Fleasfan: Hi, I've got a dumb question: If I already started the DS1 vanilla GOG version campaign and install the mod now... will I be able to use old save games? I don't want to go through the 2 hour intro again :-D
I'm not too sure. You can try to back up the installation folder (copy DS1 to another folder) your saved games will be in Documents folder and in a folder called Dungeon Siege (if on Windows) so back them both up then try installing the expansion then loading a game. If it works great, if not then just quit the game delete both folders then move the copies back.

If you could let us know if it does/doesn't work then that would be great.

I am a Chinese player. I downloaded the ultima 6 project, but there is no Chinese language in the ultima 6 project. I want to know about Ultima 6 The author of the project is still in or not. If so, can we make a Chinese patch for Chinese players, or friends from other countries can help us make a Chinese patch. If so, Chinese players will thank you very much.

Dungeon Siege 2 legend module does not have Chinese, if you can, can you do a legend module for Chinese players

You should get in touch with Sir John, a member of the Ultima VI Archon dev team who has, it is my understanding, written a German translation of the mod. I am sure he can assist you in this endeavour. 祝好运
!
I tried following this guide but it broke my GOG-installation so hard, every time I try to launch Dungeon Siege II I only get a black screen until I restart my PC.

I can't even go into the task manager to stop the program from running, as the black screen blocks me. (I guess I am lucky, at least I can get into the start options and do a reset, or I would have been forced to pull the plug.)

What could cause this?

Before installing the mod, DSII launched perfectly fine, by the way.
Download the x86 & x64 Microsoft C++ Redistribute 2005 and it may fix the black screen. Or search "Dungeon Siege 2 Broken World Patch" directly on either bing or google and click the top answer it should be microsoft answers.
*Nevermind*

The so called solution from Killah is a scam. It doesn't work at all and only breaks your game.
Better search on sites as Amazon for the complete editions and expansions of dungeon siege I and II.

It's always worked perfectly here. What is the problem that you are experiencing, what doesn't work exactly?

I'm not understanding the scam part myself, since I've heard a lot of good things about it.

But since you say it worked perfectly for you, can you tell me if the installation process was as easy as 1 2 3 or was it complicated and required a lot of tweaking?

When I last checked it out, it did seem a bit complex or maybe I'm recalling it wrong. And I think my Norton AV flagged the site, but Norton does that sometimes when it shouldn't.

I just followed the instructions in post 1 of this thread to the letter (for both games) and they both worked like a charm. I'm not exactly hard core tech savvy but I had absolutely no problems at all. I just took it slow and did each step as instructed.

Disclaimer, I installed the English language version of the game(s) and do not play multiplayer so can't comment on the difficulty if installing a different language/mp version.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. :)

I may give it a whirl after I complete the base game. I'm maybe a 1/3 of the way through, but stopped a while back to play other games and currently playing Dragon's Dogma DA and wow is that game going to eat some serious time out of my life lol.

No worries, I'm sure it'll be a breeze installing for you too :)

I've heard good things about Dragon's Dogma and from what you say it sounds like I should think about picking it up soon. Mind you, I've got Divinity: Original Sin 2 to play next when I finish Oblivion so maybe in about ten years! :D

Haha, yea I've still got DOS 1 and DOS 2 to play also, OMG so many games still in backlog. I was actually at the beginning part of DOS 1 when I switched over to DDDA just out of curiosity and now I'm hooked for a while.

Also, if you ever get Dragon's Dogma DA, make sure to head on over to Nexus Mods and get one of the ENB texture mods. The in-game graphics look soooo much better with them, almost drool worthy lol. That's passionate modders and game fans for ya. :)

Just google top 10 Dragon's Dogma mods and it'll take to you to the best ones or the site itself will list the top ones, if you've never been there. If you have, then you probably know more than me lol.

Sorry, got carried away a bit. I installed it about 2 weeks ago and can't help gushing over the game. =P

Thanks for the tip, I'll certainly check it out if (when) I get DD :)
This is amazing! Thank you so much to the people who made this possible! It's very easy to install and works perfectly (from what I can see).
