Kind of negates the point of preservation if only 1 of the 3 main modes of use is preserved. I assume there's probably some DRM crap involved that prevents that, but the game is almost a decade old, I feel like it's appropriate now to strip that out and let the people have full ownership of the game.

SnapMap seems to be still included and working. Saw people on the GOG Discord sharing screenshots of it loading.
I blame Doom '16 for making me finally succumb to Steam when the game came out.
Would be nice if they did.
Extremely unlikely to happen. GOG won't make nearly enough money off this release for Bethesda to consider it worthwhile to port that stuff over here or make it DRM-free. Buy it for DRM-free single-player - especially while it's on sale - or don't.

Can confirm Snapmap works though I'm not sure it's connecting properly for user maps as there's only a page of results in the menu.
I'm fine with it not having those if the file size is smaller.
already own it on steam

So does it actually work then?? I can make maps for myself? and PLAY it?

I really don't care for the connecting with others part

I only tested playing a couple of maps but it seems to work fine. Took a while to load up to the main menu though which I thought was odd.
please explain,
am i right undestand if here at doom2016 no DRM > no bethesda account > and no Multiplayer?

File size doesn't seem to be smaller though. it still requires around 50Gb.
Yeah, i was about to buy it, but the disclaimer stopped me. While i know mp is mostly dead... the key word is mostly. i loved the mp back on console and this game without is kinda... less? No snap hurts too. A bit of a too high price for drm free. Same with Grip (another game, racing one), the game without an mp feels wierd, less valuable.

People are ignoring it in the revievs though, so thats a shame

You can still find players on specific times (check Steam Charts). You'll have to switch between North America and Europe servers though.
