t850terminator: I'm fine with it not having those if the file size is smaller.
already own it on steam

Crimson-X: File size doesn't seem to be smaller though. it still requires around 50Gb.
you can delete the multiplayer and snapmap files to reduce the filesize a bit

SH454: While i know mp is mostly dead... the key word is mostly.

RAtAGP: You can still find players on specific times (check Steam Charts). You'll have to switch between North America and Europe servers though.
Thats my point, removing it is like stripping a core part of the game. it might be almost dead but its still there
It's a bummer that it has no multiplayer, which is understandable for a 9-year-old game. But I'm hoping GOG would set up a private server like Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory sometime in the future.
It's GOG's choice, not Bethesda's. No online means no multiplayer. Whenever they release anything with any online requirements it becomes a shitstorm of complaints and review-bombings, so don't expect any more games with multiplayer or anything else that require to be online on GOG in the near future, with rare exceptions.

wait what, why did they even include the files then for multi-p /gog??.. wasting space. Are they essential?
playing against bots is by far the most fun thing about this game, bethesda or modders or someone it's going to be so tragic when they turn off the servers for this!
They removed the steam required components. I'm honestly pretty surprised at this point the open source communities haven't made an open source Steamworks/server/client setup. Maybe they can't. Maybe companies couldn't even support it due to the Steam store agreement.

I got it cuz $4 for Doom w/o DRM was worth it. Hopefully they put Eternal on here soon too. I wanted to show Bethesda I'd buy Doom again DRM free.

Ya know though, I wonder if they didn't use Steam but used Bethesda for MP/snapmap instead they could still do those feature, like Battletech uses a Paralax account.

I don't have the $$ for the new Doom but if it was released on GOG release day I would of found the $$.
Problem is they put in multiplayer they will have to put in some form of DRM and you know what a shit strom they would get over that.
