peshk: Hello.

I am totally confused. I have used an installer which has the name "setup_divinity_original_sin_2.0.0.2" But the game says it is version 1.0.37 or something like that. I had no internet for over a week, and thought to look for patches and I found two, and the dlc. The installer now (any maybe even when I downloaded it) says 1.074
Those say: 1.0.57+ to 1.0.74 and 1.0.74 to 1.0.81, while the dlc is 2.5.0.
None of those three find the base game and I can't install any of them as I seem to have a really old version?

I am confused by the naming of my files in comparison to the version numbers of the game.

Can somebody help with that? What should I do to play with patches?
It will be a re-download of 9+ GB, but you may just want to download the current installer (which installed 1.0.74), then install the 1.0.81 patch.

The numbers in the filename (e.g. 2.0.0.2) is GOG's installer file version and bears no resemblance to the game's version number. It can be a little confusing, but it looks like GOG has updated the game's download page in the library with the game's version number now and not the installer version number. So that should help a little. =)

The important question no one here bothered to bring up, is what version of the game do people have? A Steam copy or a GOG copy, because GOG patches DO NOT WORK on Steam versions and require VALVE to release that patch.

That situation reminds me of all the Steam users trying to blame UBISOFT for not being able to get the Season pass for Watch Dogs through UPLAY because they didn't want to accept and couldn't get the concept that just because the game uses UPLAY it's still a Steam version of the game and they even argued that point and simply tried pushed all Valve's responsibility onto UPLAY. Hell they even trying to call UPLAY a 3rd party which was fucking hilarious.

If you didn't already re-download the updated full installer, you may be able to find unofficial links to the patches that GOG removed if you search online. I used the program Hash to create some checksum values for the patches I downloaded, if you want to verify anything downloaded was not altered:

Like others have reported, I got an error about the incorrect version of LanguageSetup.exe when installing this patch, but the game itself seems fine.

Why don't they either make one giant patch or yank the game down, update it then post the game for download again.

All this patch crap is causing problems.

So people don't have to keep re-downloading stuff they mostly already have.

They have, several times.
