gog2002x: On a seperate note, there's only one review for Dishonored®: Death of the Outsider™ and it's a bad review. Is there some reason to stay away from this one and just get 1 & 2?
avatar
Abedsbrother: Death of the Outsider is the worst of the three. Generally smaller levels (the large one is re-used). The fewest skills - which limits how you can approach combat or stealth. snip
I think I'll just get Dishonored 1 & 2 for now and see what happens in the future.

gog2002x: Or is the DLC active for all the games seperately also?
avatar
TheMonkofDestiny: This isn't really an issue.

The collection is just the three separate games, not some megapackage that requires anyone to download the three games together. For some regions, the pricing of the collection is worse than the individual games while for others the collection is the better option in terms of price.
I found that extremely wierd too.

I tested it. Renaming the DLC folder only disable the additional mission. The additional items can still be found n Corvo's room after he first met the Outsider. No idea what could be done to disable this.

deargdoom: Some of the DLC in Dishonored is lame. Specifically having so many Bone Charms in Corvo's room kind of defeats the purpose of searching for Bone Charms and purchasing upgrades.

Is there any way to disable this DLC apart from just pretending not to notice the Bone Charms are in your room and there is no good reason to purchase upgrades since you can just pick up the artifacts in your bedroom instead?
Too bad that developers never include an option for this kind of DLCs to turn it on or off. Not everyone wants to start their first playthrough with this "cheats" enabled.

Steam allows unchecking the DLC but Galaxy doesn't offer such DLC interfacing. Really needs to improve in that regard.
GOG does support DLC management.

I believe it's up to the game devs to actually use it. Some games, especially "complete/definitive/game of the year" editions come with every DLC preinstalled and cannot be teared apart.

The Witcher 3, for example, the NON-GOTY edition, let's you install only the DLC you are interested into.

So, again, I believe it's a matter of devs too lazy or not too invested in making a top-notch game release on GOG.

This last point is the key one to be improved, IMHO.

As usual, and as usual, gog does nothing to rectify it. Developer, publisher and gog ignore practically everything when it comes to gog. They dump their product here and leave, and because you people gush over them releasing their expired games here they don't even bother trying.
A suitable level of bluntness.

In fairness I think steam kindof has the same issue, assuming you are referring to the voidwalker arsenal (the others are fairly unobtrusive)
