svfn: it will not work on 1.09b GOG, you need 1.09 for Torch mod.

kjx: Windows 7 x64, GOG's Diablo, Torch works like a charm. Both versions, Classic and dx, no problems.
can you go on current bnet with it? i am merely quoting the note on freshmeat's Torch page that says it only works with 1.09.

i haven't tried it personally with GOG but have played with it in the past and found there are better mods, unless you only want to play on bnet.

still some users can't run it, maybe you can help them with it.

Sorry, can't. No BNet for me. UDP 6112 error and port forwarding does not work (shitty ISP) :-/

I do nothing, Torch worked out of the box. Diablo -> select char -> start game -> minimize game -> run inject.bat -> back to game.

--------

EDIT: Installed trial VPN software and tried connect to BN and... Torch is working!

ok i got it to work too. i guess i am lucky since i can use the wierd method to bypass 6112 red dialogue and create game on bnet without portforward and vpn.

tested: Torch Win8.1 & 10 version (from freshmeat page)
version: GOG DX battle.net and singleplayer

for these that can't get it to work, you may need to right click InjectorConsole.exe and tick "Run as admin" in compatibilty tab. start Diablo, enter battle.net, create a game then run Inject.bat, if it was succesful there is a quick command prompt window that says "Starting in autoinject mode", and when you alt-tab back in game you would see the mod. sometime may need to run the bat a few times if it did not inject sucessfully.

also, if you have any antivirus also, it may prevent the file from running, so add that InjectorConsole.exe to exclusion.

the hell 2 mod is the way to go; you can find it on moddb.com

it features many qol improvements too numerous to list, boots, belts, and gloves, 6 classes, 29 subclasses, improved soundtrack, new quest areas, and the hellfire dungeon levels. all thats needed to run it is the diabdat.mpq file from the original game.
I can confirm torch does work, i got diablo installed on C:/Games/Diablo all u need to do at least on win 10, is to right clikc on InjectorConsole.exe and in tab compatibilty run it as a admin as they mentioned above. Good to see d1 does work under win 10 with battle.net support, torch included and no alt tab issuse ;D
I am enjoying the Tchernobog mod for the quality of life stuff (mostly inspired from Diablo 2) and increased difficulty. Have only put in a few hours (and died a few times at the second floor!) but I like the high resolution support (zoomed out).

It's a mod for people who have -already- cleared Diablo 1 classic I feel, however. Because the classic experience is worth playing through on Normal, at least. I am currently playing on a local multiplayer character, in case I ever have a friend who decides to pick this up too, and so I can respawn and keep trying against a horde that kills me.

danly: Belzebub, The Hell, Infernity, and so forth.

Try this mod manager:

When I try to install this, it says to click an initialization button, but no such button exists. Can't find any information anywhere, anyone have any ideas, or am I just blind?

My friend also encountered this bug in the program. He solved it by running Equine and when the window was in focus he pressed [Tab] to navigate to the misplaced button and clicked [Enter] to confirm. Everything else in the program worked just fine. Still a weird glich.
