derelict: Actually, the resolution mod isn't really needed, you can edit the system\deusex.ini file, modifying the two fields:
FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080
Still on XP here as I mostly play retro games, just do the .ini edits for widescreen+FOV adjustment: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/deus-ex and get the newer D3D9/OpenGL renderers as well: http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/. On a laptop look into SpeedswitchXP if your CPU keeps throttling and gives bad framerates. Done!
