This is not particulalry important, but... does anyone know if there is a way to restore censored textures?
Right now, Nazi banners display a generic black cross on a red background (shown in the attached screenshot), yet seeing strips with swastikas on the Gestapo NPCs makes me think that the orignal were removed.
Even if this certainly does not affect gameplay, I find any kind of censorship disturbing, so I would gladly swap the symbols back to the originals, if there is a chance to do so.

That seems nice! Do you know if it is possible to install the decensoring, bugfixing and optimization changes without the simplification in gameplay? I would like to keep the game as close to the original as possible.

Also, the dowload links seem to be broken for me...

I see even the GOG staff posted this patch.
You're right. I didn't read the release page, so I completley missed it. :P
Thanks for pointing that out, though, as the links there work fine. Now I just have to wait for my awful internet connection, since I need more than two hours to download nearly 220Mb... sigh.
I'll let you know how the addon works as soon as I can!

Ok .
All right, the mod worked (see picture). Sometimes I get a bit of problems with menus: in the equipment selection screen it is possible to see everything disappear and be susbstituted by randomly placed white letters, yet a simple alt+tab can revert things back to normal.

To all those that might have my same problem: I found the required VFS unpacker here, but somehow I could download the addon only from here, due to the other links on that page not working for me.

Thank you, ne_zavarj! :)

The VFS unpacker doesn't work. It's just an empty window with yellow background. I tried xp compatibility and running as administrator and it just loads a blank window. Win7 64bit

Aren't there a few options in the lower part of the window?
I did this: move the .exe on Death to Spies folder, then run it.
Open each .vfs file, save it and then remeber to click the "close" button each time it finishes saving.
Once this is done, copy-paste the addon and the English files and you should have no problem.

P.S. I had no problem using Windows 7, 64 bit. I cannot say about other OSs.

This is what it looks like for me. Maybe it's just a case of there not being a detailed enough walkthrough on how to use it? This is all I get when I run the unpacker in the Death To Spies folder and there is no option to open the vfs files or anything. I tried dragging the files into the unpacker window,.. I tried opening the vfs files with the unpacker... nothing.

Is the censored textures where already in the retail version or are they a brand new (bad) decision ?
What about the simplification of the gameplay ? For the worst or the best ?

The international retail version was already censored, so this time is not GOG's fault.
Only the Russian original is not censored.

About the simplification: I played only the first two mission using the vanilla version, and when I replayed them I found no significant differences, aside from a few differences in the loadout screen, especially the always available bottle of clorophorm. It serves mostly to allow a non-lethal style, while the origianl forced you to use the chocke cord for identical effects.
In any case, the game is more than hard enough, even with them on! :P
The mod is definitely a big improvement, so I recommend everyone to install it, when possible.

Thanks, your answer convinced me to try the game asap !

Hey, I unpacked the mod and english translation and saved each VFS file with the unpacker thing, but there is no change in the game. The swastika banners are still censored and there is still no blood.

Exact same situation. I'll spare you my story which I wrote on another thread and simply tell you this: delete the original .vfs files in your Death to Spies folder. As soon as I did that: the intro videos appeared prior to the main menu, blood spurted out of enemies and mission names on loading screens could be seen (all signs the enhanced mod was working).
