I'm using the cloud saves to sync between my PC and GeForce Now. However a lot of my save files are 12MB each and I got to the point that the syncing with the cloud throws an error that the saves are occupying 2120MB on my drive and only 2000MB are allowed in the cloud for this game.
After some searching I found the official GOG answer that I should just launch the game with the sync on, alt-tab, delete the saves I don't want with the file manager, quit the game and GOG Galaxy will remove those saves from the cloud.
So I did exactly that. Now I am getting the prompt that there is a different state of saves in the cloud and local and which save state is more current - PC or cloud. When I click PC - GOG Galaxy will sync back all deleted saves back to my PC. When I click cloud - it will do the same.
So is there any proper way to delete multiple saves (I have ~400 to delete)?
Maybe with a completely empty save folder, the system assumes that you've accidentally lost them and downloads backups from the cloud.

Try creating a new game and making at least one manual save. Then resync and tell it your PC saves should take precedence.

I just posted almost the exact same issue as well.

No matter what I do, it always downloads savegames from the cloud, and regardless of whether I disable cloud saves for the game, it ignores my choice and tries to sync saves anyway. NFI why but it is annoying as hell.

I left some manual saves and all autosaves.
edit: spent a few hours today on this issue. I literally cannot delete excess saves from the cloud.
