i have the same issue. the whole game is so sluggish which makes the game not enjoyable. i installed it on my brothers computer and it works fine (apart from the odd crash). my computer is newer than his, the only thing his computer is better than mine is the graphics card he has a 7870 and i have a 7770. he is also playing with the old 4:3 flat screen aswell. hopefully this get sorted because at the moment the game is unbareble .

The solution to this problem is to assign a group to some pirate who is in the center of the ship, so when you need to move pirates groups at the far sides of the ship you can simply recall the first group in order to center the view of the ship. You can also change the game speed so you have the time to create these groups without losing the battle.

Same problem here.
Windows 8 Notebook with AMD mobile. I tried every combination in compatibility mode (launcher and game exe).
I will try in a Virtual pc with win 98 and this version of the game. I will post if I find any solution..

Same here. I Cant play the game. After game start, I can hardly move the mouse. Its not playable

Soooooooo.... i'm guessing there's no fix? I just bought this from that microid bundle because i really wanted to play this again but, dear lord, it's just unplayable when the fights start (and the menus). How is it that the game still continues available for sale if it has this serious problem?

Same as everyone, the game is running slow.

I thought it couldn't handle Multi-CPUs so i allowed only 1, but it didn't improve nor degrade the game fps

So i installed this game again tonight,

and i had NO PROBLEM AT ALL. the game is running SMOOTHLY. what the hell?!

i ran the setup; at the end the game launched, the menu was smooth, ingame was smooth, battles were smooth!!!

the thing i did ONLY WORKS FOR NVIDIA GRAPHICS CARDS !

- Open NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL.
- click on Handle parameters 3D
- as " preferred graphics processor" set "Processor Nvidia high performance"

Apparently the game doesn't switch from the crap Intel to your NVIDIA one.

Windows 7 x64 Laptop.

This game has never worked for me such a shame. Why sell it?

It works for me. It is not sluggish and I only had one error that is the game stopped running. I just played and it still works.

The game works for me too.
I just noticed it tends to crash when exploring the map too close to the borders or when moving the mouse too fast.
