I found this on the Internet:

Undying works right off the bat....however it looks a little dated...Because of this I thought I'd include texture updates for it.

Note: things that require the Vista "run as admin" will have after the step number.

1. Insert the Undying CD and install the game.

2. Download the Official Texture Patch:

3. Install the patch.

4. Run the game and then close it.

5. Download the Unofficial Texture Updater:

http://www.4shared.com/file/VUySkBvU/tupdater_128.html

6. Unzip the updater.

7. Run the updater...When it is finished click close.

This updates the textures slightly....so it doesn't look so pixalated when you walk close to things like walls...

I don't know how far GOG has already updated the game. So I dont know if the official texture patch is already installed. I followed the description and installed both.

64x64 and 128x128
The installer sometimes with windows xp get stuck in the end, but it had already patched the game, so don't worry.

Here in the section "Guide" there is a lot of secrets discovered by the people that created the textures patch and italian translation, i was part of the team (only for the translation part, the textures one was made by Doppiapunta and by a russian guy). Doppiapunta studying the maps in editor to add subtitles found secrets that you can't find around the web not even in gamefaqs:

Ah, great. I actually never knew about the texture pack but apparently I always had the 'patch1' available.

Does the texture pack work in nGlide or is it only for DirectX?

Is there a place to download this texture pack without having to register at the site?

The OP gave us 4shared link but that site is annoying too as you have to wait 20 seconds for every download. I could upload it tomorrow at MediaFire, fast download and no waiting.

Well... the subscription to the webpage is a way to say "thank you for the job", it's free and takes only 3 minutes.
I don't think that's a drama.

It's a project really old, i don't remember very well, but i'm pretty sure that the "official" patch it was basically unuseful (related to some old nvidia driver), or ati radeon related (at that time every games had serious problem with Ati crap drivers). We never had the impression that the official patch was bettering anything at all.

Ok, i've searched on my notes in a dvd backup from the time when we translated the game.

The official patch is useful only for the FIRST USA copy of the game, absolutely not useful for european versions, these ones are already patched.
In my notes it was writing to use it only if you have textures problem in the Oneiros level. The patch is created to fix only that. The problem is present only in the first version selled in the USA.
I don't know if GOG version is the USA first version or European version.

Thank you! Though, having followed the instructions and all, the textures aren't drastically better, but it is noticeable in how there's slightly less blur up close.

Either way, game still looks wonderful to me. Lots of atmosphere and great use of colour. Undying's held up remarkably well. Something about the oldies that you can't find in the new flashy games :)

The textures unofficial patch isn't a recent job. The patch was done a year or a couple of year after the game was released, if i'm not wrong. So it's only a little better than the original game. ;-)

I've seen the USA package.... i'm really pissed off... the USA package contains a Family Diary writed with special fonts, coloured, with images. My European version italian translated Family Diary (the game was in english, but the manuals were in italian) is black and white writed with a nomal font XD
Here in Europe (Italy) at the time we had really some shit*y packages.

Doppiapunta never translated the guide in english.
I can't translate all the guide now, but if you want to know something in particular i can translate it in english.

I might see if one of the online translation pages can translate it, or maybe an android translator.

I'm more curious than anything else.
