JDPingree: Can confirm. Just arrived in Chiqua and this crash happens every time I scroll down to that item.

laurentarchambault: It also crashes if you scroll up to it (using pgdn to get to the bottom and then up)
If you have a controller plugged, it always crashed in my tests, without controller it doesn't crash.

In my latest tests I still can see occasionally the crash even while I have no controlled plugged and zero Bluetooth/USB devices attached to Windows.
In this case, the respective error in the Windows Event Viewer doesn't even mention dinput.dll as the source module, it only mentions the main bof4 executable.
Also arrived in Chiqua today and had the exact same issue.

Thank god I saved before, but everytime when I want to choose the Power Glove in the manillo shop the game crashes.
I tried unplugging my controller (which is a PS5 one), loading from another save file or saving in Chiqua and loading there nothing helped and the game still crashed.

I hope GOG does fix this...

They already know about this issue. But, at this point, I think GOG won't release any more hotfixes for this game.

That's a bummer to be honest.

Breath of Fire is one of my childhood series and I already hate how Capcom doesn't care about it.
Finally there is at least a way to play BoF IV again and I'm really grateful for that and was really hoping for BoF III in the future, but not fixing bugs like this one just because it's not relevant to finish the main story or whatever reasons is sloppy.

It's my first game bought here and probably my last if GOG doesn't want to fix it, and I don't wanna know what kind of bugs are in older or future games brought by them. :(

More likely that GOG's still in the collecting phase as far as bugs and suggestions for further improvements are concerned.
You have to keep in mind that GOG is chronically understaffed and the few employees that are working on fixes do so not just for BoFIV but for a bunch of other titles at the same time, hence it's probably going to take quite a while until the next fix for BoFIV arrives.

To put things in perspective - the fix for Silent Hill 4 that reinstates the previously missing hauntings only was released a couple years after the original GOG re-release in 2020 or 2021.
Doesn't mean that it's going to be the same for BoFIV, but just to be mindful of the relatively slow roll-out of fixes and patches for games that are part of the preservation program.

Ah I see that's a completely different story then.
So it's possible they still fix it in months or even later.

We just have to wait and see.
