Ki11s0n3: [...] Also the supposed leaked footage makes me think they are taking an Uncharted (game) type play style to it which kinda worries me if that is actual leaked footage.
Valve isn't a video game developer any more, that's the reason for the "delay" in HL3. Valve is a server farm and gets by with less employees every year. :(

The supposedly leaked footage of BG&E2 is now, what, six years old? No video game concept survives this long unscathed. I'm really uncertain where Ubisoft is right now concerning this on-and-off development, but it certainly doesn't look like it did six years ago any more.
Well, so much for gamescom 2015. :(
For anyone interested: According to destructoid info (that Ubisoft has asked them to take down) Beyond Good & Evil will be NX exclusive. Nintendo is effectively funding the development.

I didn't want a Nintendo console, but... this is a striking argument. :|
I personally think that the fact that Ubisoft had the reports removed instead of issuing a demeti makes it pretty clear that there is something going on behind the scenes. Honestly, I believe the rumor. Nintendo did a similar thing with Bayonetta, a critical hit with weak sales and a small but dedicated fanbase.

Fuck it, if that turns out to be true I will have to buy a Nintendo NX.

Gah, so I've to wait for another 10 years to get it run in a decent NX emulator ;-|

Well, after the incredible shit Nintendo just pulled off with Paper Mario ("Five guys"), I'll say that's a healthy stance to have. :)
Hey folks... in case you've missed this...

It's our old pal Michel Ancel posting Beyond Good & Evil 2 concept art. That doesn't mean that much because it's likely this is creativity heralding aimed against the hostile takeover that Ubisoft tries to avoid. Still, good to see it exists. :)

He's posted a new one, mentioning that it's for a game in pre-production, so it could be that BG&E 2 will really see the light of day:

That's actually fairly disappointing news (and I whined about it elsewhere already). You must remember, the first fully animated trailer was presented in 2008, and Ubisoft has since confirmed that BG&E2 is in development every single year.

...and it's still in pre-production. That's... crap. :( :(
Hidden gem it is.
So BG&E 2 is officially coming out (2019 Q4) and as of now is going to be a prequel to the original. This blows, and I will not be buying it...no matter how much I love Christopher Heral's music.

Also, frankly I hate the grungie, dirty, rough aesthetic that it has. I prefer the more charming and cartoonish aesthetic of the original game.

For some reason the website won't let me post links...

Now they've come out and told people it would be a multiplayer always-online shit game with a tacked-on single player. Which on the one hand is exactly what Ancel said it wouldn't be one year ago ... and on the other, it's also the very thing that the fans of the first game never wanted.

Ubisoft is dead and as much as it hurts, they've killed the Beyond Good & Evil franchise and spat in the faces of the fans.

I'll still look out for Heral's OST. But as these pricks publish on Bandcamp and never release a complete CD soundtrack... I'm stuck with getting it in other ways. These people plainly do not want my money, as much as I attempt to throw it at them. :(
