With the 2.0 version of the EE editions of BG being out, I request that GoG give us an option to download the unpatched version with the 1.3 patch etc being available.

Reason: the new sprites. They look very very off due to my colourblindness, and playing the game is almost impossible because of it. The characters look kind of...blurry, and they look like they are standing half a foot above the ground. Stuff like that. Hard to explain, really. On Beamdog's store you only get the game with the latest patch installed. I bought the game there when it came out, and since I patched the game via the update option, it is now permanently ruined for me.

Hoping GoG will let the pre 2.0 patch version available so I can buy the game here instead.

It's not your colour blindness, the sprites *are* off. The whole thing, other than UI, is very blurry. It's very, very off-putting. I wouldn't hold your breath on GOG supplying back patches. No games have older patches available any longer. Public forums are also not the place to make requests.

My colourblindness is making it worse, though. Seems that way, anyway.

I thought you could turn it off in the menu. Atleast I turned off a few things.

You can turn off the black line around the sprites, yes. But the sprite itself is still rather wonky.

I spoke to one of the devs about it last week, and they have had a ton of complaints about it. They are looking at a way to make a toggle or new\old sprites. in a future patch. Sadly, given that the 2.0 patch has been forced into bg 1 and 2 as well, they managed to ruin those games for me.

They could have solved this by making the previous version of the EE games available for download. It is that simple. Why they don't do this, I have no clue.

oh ok. I never played the original-EE editions so I have no idea how they look like. But as 2.0 version, they managed to make a 18 year old game look worse.

This looks like an amazing mod. Unfortunately my game didn't start when i put that in my override folder. Probably because I am using a laptop with 1280x800 max resolution. :(

Unfortunately, this is just more confirmation that Beamdog screwed up big time.

The instructions say that it for resolutions greater than 1920x1200 and that interface scaling needs to be deselected. I complained about it multiple times on Beamdog's forum once they showed pix of the new UI and asked for a menu toggle to allow for the previous UI. I was told, it can be modded now. I told them that one should not have to mod the game to get the previous UI and I even reminded them how people reacted with NWN2 to the change of the default UI between the Original Campaign and Mask of the Betrayer despite the fact that the previous UI could easily be restored by pressing the keypad "*" key. I guess I didn't know what I was talking about...

guys does anyone knows where the last patch is going to be applied in gog.

Probably in a day or two...the 2.1 patch released for Beamdog and Steam last Thursday, so the GOG version will probably be released this Tuesday or Wednesday. GOG usually takes somewhere between 2 to 5 days to launch their version of patches.

5.5 hours later and I finally manage to get SCS v30 to install onto a BG2EE version, no errors. Hallelujah.
