The OP needs an update. The infamous Beregost crash bug has long been squashed (since 27 March 2012).

Did BG2 vanilla run properly after you run bgconfig?
I don't know what easytutumanager is.
But lets say you downloaded EasyTutu_ToB.exe, disabled your antivirus software & run EasyTutu_ToB.exe
It extracted the setup files to C:\Temp\EasyTutuSetup
Then you click Next
Then Normal
Then you specify your path to Baldurs Gate 1
Then you specify your path to Baldurs Gate 2
Then it says it will install BaldursGate Tutu in the following folder
C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Baldurs Gate Tutu
You backspace & tell it to install in C:\Games\Baldurs Gate Tutu (or anywhere else, other than C:\ProgramFiles(x86) )
Then you go to C:\Games\Baldurs Gate Tutu & run BGMain.exe
And that's when it crashes?

Can I import a character build made using BG1 into an EasyTuTu installation?
EDIT: The walk speed seems to be awfully quick on my EasyTuTu Installation. Is this normal?

EDIT: The walk speed seems to be awfully quick on my EasyTuTu Installation. Is this normal?
The copy your character file xxxxx.chr from BG1\Characters to TuTu\Characters
The in TuTu character generation choose import, then character file.
BG2tweaks has an option to use BG1 weapon proficiency's & BG1 Grandmastery (True Grandmastery)
It also has an option to use BG1 walking speeds, but it is considered a beta & may cause problems.
Better just to get used to the BG2 walking speed.

I am using BG Tutu and installed everything fine. I even did this:
HD0:=C:\Games\Baulder's GateTutu\
CD1:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate 2\data\
CD2:=C:\Games\Baulder's GateTutu\data\
CD3:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate 2\data\
CD4:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate 2\data\
CD5:=C:\Games\Baldur's Gate 2\data\;C:\Games\Baldur's Gate 2\data\
(Ignore the spelling mistakes, I didn't even realise I spelled the game incorrectly when I installed BG tutu)
Yet I still can't access the tutorial ask it just asks for a disk. What else do I need to do?

But I still get the "insert disk 2" problem. How necessary is the tutorial anyway? Even though I haven't played a Balder's Gate game before.

Did you install any patches or text updates that were meant for the disk version?

Not that I know of because I followed the guide on the front page with the exception of using this http://www.shsforums.net/topic/52452-bigger-fonts-mod-for-baldurs-gate-2/ text mod which, according to the forum I downloaded it from, works on BG tutu
